Maybe a good reason for USCR to move a DC area race to Richmond International Raceway--they have an infield road course, and it can't be any worse than this monstrosity.
IMSA, Grand Am and USCR are all starting to make the WEC look like a work of art in comparison. |

So for that little incident with the PC car and the ESM car needed another 15-20 minute yellow?

And IMSA/USCR it seems needs a major shake up in race control. WEC doesn't have these problems, either.

That can't be right that they re-started the race without stating the new minimum drive time.
Hand took the sacrifice early bath but hasn't done the six minutes seemingly. And now a penalty for Dyson!!?? |

FoD79, you blamed a part of the circuit: the walls. And if you read my full post, I point out that the front straight at Baltimore is WIDER than several of the major permanent circuits! Plenty of accidents happen with cars hitting other cars on the racing surface, and there was no wall in sight! By that logic, there never should have been a single incident in the Esses at Riverside.

Can't be much worse than either Kansas or Baltimore. Also, isn't VIR really close to either NC or SC? Are they any decent road courses in the Baltimore/DC area? Maybe revive the RFK stadium course? |

How have the comms team not seen Martin fully straight-lining both kerbs at the chicane!? No wonder the rear bumper is coming off.

VIR is actually quite a ways from D.C./Baltimore. Watkins Glen or Lime Rock might be no further away.
There just aren't any really good circuits in that area for these cars to run on. In its present form, I have issues with Baltimore, yes. That section of Pratt Street NEEDS repaving. I also think the curbs at Turns 5-7 should be moved back to right next to the walls. I remember last year when a FCY was caused by a limping LMPC getting high-sided on the apex curb at Turn 6. |

Worst ALMS race in history. The only thing for me that can salvage it is if a GT wins overall. But still this will go down as a bad one for sure no matter what.

So, the mickey-mouse tire chicane which can't be seen by a car following another car through is fine with everybody---it's the drivers' fault? Does not a couple piles of tires piled on a race course scream "World Class" to you?
Only reason they need the tires is because the city won't repave that short section of the track so cars don't launch over the hump there. Oh, and all you folks who ridiculed both me and Klaus Graf ... seems race control has a different view of things, eh? Anyway ... I have seen disasters at races. This one isn't that bad because no one has been injured, but wow ... what a terrible race. Does everybody here really hope in their heart of hearts that USCR picks Baltimore over VIR next year? But ... it's not the track. |
