Shame really, because RWD is usually more exciting for the drivers and spectators than FWD

Except for BMW there are no RWD cars suitable for TCR so I don't understand this discussion. And the next 1-Series will be FWD too.

The question here is: will BMW look into TCR concept as soon as DTM folds?

I'd be surprised if they wouldn't when the new 1-series is introduced, regardless of what they do with DTM. Like their GT3 and GT4 programme's it'll be an interesting customer racing programme.

I'd still like to see it as an option. If Jaguar or Lexus wanted to build a baby saloon and it was RWD it would be good to have RWD available for TCR.

If this ever does happen (i hope so), i hope they will do a Mini TCR also. It was such a shame that the American Mini TCR project was given the no go.

Mini TCR would be very interesting, I think this series would suit them

TCR East Europe will start next year.

If I am correct there are at least 10-15 TCR spec cars in Eastern Europe, hopefully they all will be racing here.

Because we needed another TCR series to further spread the entries into smaller and smaller grids.

It's combined with the pre-existing TCR Europe and FIA CEZ championships.

If anything, it means teams based in eastern European nations, aren't stretched to commit to a full TCR Europe or TCR Germany campaign.

TCR Middle East will be run by Creventic and have 3 races for each of the 3 race weekends, 2*30 minute sprints and a 4 or 10 hour race. They've also put the 3 weekends in 3 straight weeks soon after the Dubai 24h so they might get more cars sticking around for 1 month rather than 2 or 3 of previous years.

Also the NGKUAETCC (it rolls off the tongue ) will have a TCR class

Bragin takes good points for the Russian championship in Moscow. Victories for Gavrilov and Dudukalo. Terrible weekend for the Lada squad, BoP is really bad working for them after its last review.

So much easier to blame all the bad things on BoP instead of blaming your race engineers. Or drivers!

That's true.

Bit of a different circuit layout anyway.

Would have been a good idea from the start of the concept, especially seen as it's so reliant on a full BoP system. In 2020, will every owner of a TCR car need to install a new ECU?

Not just the ECU, but the constructor will need to supply a conforming wiring loom to suit as well.

Could be tricky, if you're not running a VAG car or Honda.

Common ECU makes sense.

Why do they need also to supply the wiring loom?

Control ECU isn't going to plug straight into the existing loom of the variety of competing cars. Would need a potentially unreliable patch loom at the least.

Would make sense for the constructors to knock up the looms themselves, and sell them to the teams. Easy plug-and-play solutions make for a good revenue stream. What customer racing is all about.
