It's a theoretical performance window, and with BoP being what it is for the WEC, sandbagging, or detuning is really discouraged through a natural process, instead of being encouraged in TUSC. Personally I'd like to see the BoP be initiated for the next year after the test and season has concluded, versus after LeMans. |

Can someone in the know explain how the removable seats work? Are they still bolted in but just need to be small enough to fit through the roof hatch, or is there some quick release seat mounting involved?
I've always thought the safest way to mount the seats was to bolt them at the bottom and the seat back to the rollcage, and then have the belts passing through the seats, but actually bolted to the rollcage. |

SWAG.... a solid seat bucket, that a second solid insert with quick releases goes into and the belts through both. That would also facilitate individual inserts being used for driver changes. Hatch size? L.P. |

Thinking out loud here... If there is enough concern about the driver that he/she has to be removed with the seat through the roof then the rescue crew would probably just cut the roof if they needed better access. The hatch rule at least means no roll cage tubes directly above the driver.

We would just cut the cage. It would be significantly faster.
This is for routine removal if the driver cannot get out on his own, or needs to be removed quickly(car on fire, on its side, or doors unusable) |

Do the new regs allow for carbon fiber suspension? Keep thinking that Porsche will utilize the 918 (without hybid) and adding a turbo to the v-8 to race in 2017.

Not if I remember correctly, also no point to use carbon suspension in a GT car. Porsche won't race the 918 sorry, 960 is the number combination you need.

Perhaps he meant the 918 could be the basis for the new mid engined car.

Yes, the 960 which would be derived from the 918 sans hybrid. Porsche is well known for exploiting all of its product development. The CGT engine was originally developed for F1 then LMP1 before ending up in the CGT. Was wondering how much would have to change to meet the new 2016 GT regs?
