Yeah that calendar that has been shown is for the F2 and F3 support races. No complete F1 calendar yet

Autosport has published a provisional calendar with 19 races on it that include 2 quadruple headers. Baku, Russia, China and Japan are all on following weekends!!!
That sure looks like a logistics headache. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/14...ar-takes-shape I can't see all those races happening but who knows. |

it does read a little like fanfiction, but i guess they need to set some deadlines and plans down so that teams can start to work towards them when they come back from shutdown. yes, we don't know how this is going to progress over the next few months but we all know that it takes a bit of time to get f1 mobilised to the flyaway events.

One thing that the proposed calender will resolve is there will be no fundamental changes to the car once things get going as the cars will not return to the factories for long periods of time. The proposed calender won't happen as much as I would like to see it, it would be interesting to see what happens under those circumstances.

All that you need in the current situation is for some country/official to clamp down on goods moving over borders to cause chaos to a schedule like that especially when you have countries that have not held GP's before.

a reasonable point but in reality at no point in this, even at it’s worst, has there been a ban on movement of goods. even with closed borders in europe freight has been moving freely.

For F1 teams and personnel plus circuit infrastructure their biosphere was going to cover the best part of 1000 people, adding F2 and F3 teams and personnel is going to add probably the best part of another thousand.
Given the biosphere has each team at a different hotel, is the local infrastructure able to manage the additional One hotel For each F2 & F3 team. At the circuit, the F2 &F3 teams have agreements with the F1 teams to use their pitwall monitors etc, will a wipe down between sessions suffice? The bigger the event, even held behind closed doors, it’s required “footprint” outside the circuit gets bigger. The question has to be asked, are they trying to run before learning to walk again? |

so i think it's clear that the reason the season isn't starting sooner is that... it can't. it requires hotels to be allowed to open up and ideally offer some catering options. right now, it's not gonna happen. but it's not scheduled to happen right now.... |

The adding of support races seems like an additional and unnecessary challange particularly if the races are to be held with no spectators.
Just organising the main event for a tv audience in this climate will be hard enough. |

The F2 and F3 drivers will want to get back out there, they still need to prove themselves to F1 team bosses

F1 needs to get things restarted, but they should try to keep things initially as simple as possible. And I think no support races makes a ton of sense. Support races just increases the footprint of the event. They should be trying to keep that footprint as small as possible. If things run smoothly and the global situation improves then start to roll in other items. Richard |

More like another 250/300. They’re not big and they get very limited passes anyway.

i think the number of 1000 that the belgians were talking about as a core figure for f1 to run included the f2/f3 paddocks.

Apparently Indy and Monaco won't clash in 2021.

It looks like Mugello will have what I assume will be its first World championship F1 GP in September.
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/15...alendar-update Great to see existing circuits get a chance to hold a GP even if Ferrari own it and might be a slight advantage because of that. |

I wouldn't be buying tickets for next year's AGP just yet given the current problems in that city though in the big scheme of things compared to the rest of the world they are certainly not huge. We are now in July and they have to press the go button soon or call it off. Street circuits do have their disadvantages in times like this.

I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing Mugello and Algarve host their first GPs this season. Proper circuits both of them, with plenty of gradient to add to the challenge

I think I saw a newsflash on the P1 practice TV screen that says Mugello now confirmed.
Edit: F1 has confirmed that Mugello and Sochi are on the calendar, with the Italian track hosting Ferrari's 1000th race in the championship Last edited by E.B; 10 Jul 2020 at 10:49. |
