Oreca 2007-2011
Hugues de Chaunac annonce..........
The headline banner on Endurance-Info.com and Oreca's own website state that Hugues de Chaunac is set to make an announcement at Silverstone on Friday. I may be completely wrong (yet again! ), but could this be details of Oreca's much anticipated LMP1 programme. If so, we could also learn the identity of the manufacturer involved. What with the Embassy Racing announcement and now this, it could be a VERY big news day tomorrow! |

Sportscar racing on both sides of the Atlantic seems to be moving onto a higher level, good to see.
If it is an LMP1 I'll go for a link up with Nissan (Renault) or Mazda, well I can hope! |

Is everyone sure this is going to be regarding a proto program? If it is, it will be very vauge and probably just announce the manufacturer. The sporting director did say in an article in DSC that they had news to announce regarding a Saleen program in a few weeks and they would wait for ACO to release the new regs; and it has been at least a few weeks since that article.

It certainly could be a P1 announcement, but it also will likely contain some Saleen info, since Dieudonne did imply more info on that would be forthcoming. |

The Saleen programs 2 years old, they've never made such a song and dance in previous years. I think we all expect Oreca to run a couple of Saleen's in 2008, so where would the news be? |

Maybe they'll use a modified Saleen as a testbed for a future Coupé...
But somehow I don't think so... |

Oreca has the ability to build prototypes, they just need engines.
I'm thinking Saleens --> customer cars at a nice price. Oreca doing an LMP1 programme with Nissan (?). Maybe even a Toyota programme? Also, there was a rumour for an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione GT2 car for 2008, but I wouldn't think that Oreca would step down to GT2. |

Like you all I'm eager to hear/read the Oreca announcement
My secret but unlikely-to-come-true dream: a 3rd Peugeot 908 for ORECA in 2008/9... But of course if Oreca is about to announce a link with a big constructor for LMP1 program I guess it'd be with either a japanese or american new entrant in the endurance world... |

Surely a manufacturer announcement would come from the Manufacturer and not from Oreca?

A little bit disappointed by Embassy's project, we have to wait for Oreca's plans now, wishing a very good LMP1 surprise...

saleen s7
To the best of my knowledge, S7 department of Saleen is up for sale. no new cars are getting built, especially race cars. The workforce at the factory is down to less than a handful after recent layoffs.
