Silverstone Classic live on TV
This years Silverstone Classic on 25th to 27th July is to have 2 full days of live coverage on Motors TV with the exception of 90 mins when DTM is shown, all races during this 90 min period will be shown later. Sounds like great news for the event.
Anyone who has not volunteered can volunteer through the HSCC, Julians web site or by PM to either me or Fay. |

No that's ok Clive, I'm in the Safety Car for all 3 days!
Hopefully a Porsche or Aston as usual. |

The new timetable has been posted, the Saturday night race now runs from 8PM for 90 minutes, and the Sunday morning has the first session at 9am. Not a lot rest time for us again!!!!!

How can I get Motors TV in the rescue unit?
The break before the 'evening' race will be welcome. Jim |

Looks as if it is lacking the dynamic tracking necessary to retain the signal as we get sent out.

It will be interesting to see how/if the timetable is stuck to. This meeting's published timetable has always been a bit of a guidance document, rather than a 'hard and fast' item, so the exchanges between Race Control, the assembly area and the TV people may well be worth the investment in a scanner for those of you who don't have one.
I'm only there for the Friday and Saturday, so a lie-in for me on Sunday morning I think. |

Here is the website with the timetable. http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/ (The site is dog slow but the video clips are quite well done.)
I don't mind the timetable. I'm old enough to be allowed a late night from time to time. They are up-front about what they want from us and if I did not like it I need not have volunteered. It will be interesting to see how well they can keep to the intention. Regards Jim |

Oh look, here's a surprise
It clashes with another meeting on that weekend - The WTCC at Brands Hatch (which will also be transmitted live on TV - what are you going to watch now on the Rescue Unit?) |

1/ When was the last time you saw any footballer chase around for a full 90mins? 2/ It was very discourteous of you to describe the referee as "a bag of wind" |

Well, we've looked at the timetable and, seeing as they have upped the time between races to 15 minutes, we are willing to give it another go.
Don't believe that 15 mins is sufficient to clear and run a green flag lap on the Grand Prix circuit, but at least this is better than last year's completely unattainable 10 minutes between races. Let's wait and see whether we will be back next year having given them this chance this year............ Bill & Shelagh |
