NZV8s Round 6 Manfield

Craig Baird got pole. Is it just me or are the fields getting smaller?

yeah Mr Booth went okay. Fogg and Pedersen clashed at Higgins early on... which resulted in both cars spinning. Baird's car slowed while leading after a restart.. while the Anderson car was recovered at Dunlop. McIntyre gapped the field with only a handful of laps to go.. with Booth in 2nd place.


the real fruit icecream was good.. unfortunately the weather wasn't.

Fields getting smaller?

IMHO, the fields sometimes get larger with new cars e.g. booms in fields in F3000 or GP2, or in the Carrera Cup classes. Maybe the same could work with the new Falcon and Commodore bodystyle in the NZV8s? Perhaps the spreading of the cost of the new cars over X years of racing is enough to convince the accountants or backers to join the class (even if the funding for running costs evaporates before then...)?

i think you'll find all classes are down in number... not just the V8's
