Snetterton 300
I imagine this weekend was the first real big weekend for the circuit, and it was certainly my first visit. I have to say I was VERY impressed. Loads of good spectator banking, and the view at Montreal is really only rivalled at Brands Indy. It is a shame that watching from The Esses is a bit pointless on the 300, because you see them for such a short amount of time. And whilst there is less overtaking into Murrays than there was Russels, its a great place to watch the drivers work.
What did anyone else think? |

i saw a bit of qualifying, but it felt a lot like bedford autodrome just with a couple of banks added :/ sounds like the spectator experience has been ruined at the (russell) chicane now, according to a friend they'd been reduced considerably.

Did anyone camp? I understand the campsite is on the inside of Corum now, but I'd like to hear more about the facilities available.

chris, it was on the outside of what's known as montreal (did it used to be sears?) for the btcc, and the only facilities i saw when i went past was portaloos. there must have been some portable showers there somewhere though since there were people there from friday.

I'm not convinced that the viewing from Murray's is any different from the Old Russell. There is still the same embankment. |

The spectator banking area around Russell Bend (now Murrays) has been re-landscaped quite a lot. The spectators are slightly higher than they were.

Yes. There is very little catch fencing on any of the new sections. There is a stretch behind Tyrrells but that is it.

today was the first time i'd had a chance to explore the new spectator areas at snetterton and i was very impressed
your pretty much spoilt for choice now as theres so many places to watch from, the raised spectator banks at agostini and along the back straight to the montreal hairpin are particularly good, as you can see so much of the track from one place, also unlike brands theres no fences spoiling photo opportunities, as has been said elsewhere the longer layout does mean though that if your not on one of the raised banks then you're waiting a long time for the cars to come round will be even better once access is granted to the raised banking around the outside of the bombhole and coram, presume they're waiting for the grass to seed or something... how long has the access been open to the raised banking for the montreal hairpin? dont remeber seeing the path when i was there last there in April |
