Terrible. Awful circuit. Dreadful cars. Idiot drivers.
Shame we now have a long break. |

6. the lead battle was good. As a Belgian, I followed Vandoorne's battle for a point, which was also good.
But both of those battles were beheaded by the dreadful nature of the track. |

It all came alive with battle between Ferrari and Mercedes and at one point it looked like Mercedes might do it. Enthralling stuff. 7

Snorefest. sure cars could come close, but only Alonso overtook someone in earnest in the top 10 ...

6/10. No classic, but it had its moments. The battle for the lead towards the end was pretty tense, and also the will he/ won't he of Lewis and Bottas switch. Alonso's battles were interesting - especially with Sainz Jnr. The Hulkenberg versus Magnussen one was different - especially the race interview afterwards on Norwegian TV. It's just a shame that it was so difficult to overtake there.

5 but it was a bit ho-hum. The best bit was Alonso chillin' on top of his own mural.

Watching paint dry!Drivers should not get penalty points for mechanical problems, which has been commented on for a thousand times.Charlie should be pensioned off and a younger mind take over!
Meanwhile great that the Mclarens did better than expected.Has the magic that was Illmor done its trick?? With the Halo next year,I think I will give up on F1 ,as I find FormulaE quite entertaining!!! |

7. Left me wanting more but with the break I wish it was sooner rather than later.
The title swings back around again so can't really ask for much more. |

Decent race at a decent track with some story lines that kept me watching til the end. 6 plus 1 for Fernando relaxing in Perc Ferme.

"Terrible. Awful circuit. Dreadful cars. Idiot drivers.", " Snorefest.", "it was a bit ho-hum.", "Watching paint dry!", "not a great race".
I must have watched a different race. or, I guess I'm old school and need less than just fluff to see some good driving and engineering (maybe there should be BoP-ing in F1. The opening wings aren't enough for some, apparently) "With the Halo next year,I think I will give up on F1 ,as I find FormulaE quite entertaining!!!" See ya!!! I think that says it better than my comment above. Spec, that's the answer, eh? Like IndyCar. A wonderful, choreographed "show" for the masses. The race had suspense throughout. An 8 from me, 9 & 10 reserved for the (hopefully) very few times happens what those above expect from every race to fulfill that need for immediate satisfaction. Yes, saved for those very special moments that happen ever so rarely. If it were so every weekend, what would be the challenge, the excitement? |

Your response entirely valid and point made jc, but I suspect that Adam's post was classic Adam, taking the mick out of those who actually espouse the views he expressed.
I gave the race a 6 but there was some interest there particularly with the antics and tactics of the top 3 teams. I must confess to watching both F1 and Formula E. I can't help feeling that 20 years down the line, provided technical developments have created batteries which allows the cars to go full race distance on full power, they may well be one and the same, preferably on the GP circuits though rather than some of these tight city street circuits. |

Ah well maybe they will fit sound amplifiers to the electric motors creating an ear splitting shriek - just saying!
Never been to Florida, jc, although Moss is still my favourite driver of all time (which also gives my age away!) |
