4 hour race with not so great entry list (no GT3/GTD cars). But maybe this becomes a thing in the future or is the whole point of this just to be a tire test for Michelin?

I'm thinking this is a one-off event for tire testing and they thought more teams would be interested in it. I would not be surprised if a few of the paying drivers, and possibly a few contracted pros, have other commitments in Florida that weekend and so are not available. And teams may be looking at the main testing days on the schedule for next season to gather data, and save money not adding to their calendar.

Hey, there is a Saturday night concert with the "Dairy Daughters," so...how do you spell excitment

Of course this is the same weekend as the Classic 24 at Daytona, which may put a damper on attendance at Sebring...unless you are a "Dairy Daughters" fan.

I pushed my wedding to May to be sure to not miss an HSR event so I think you can guess where I'd be if I was in Florida this weekend. And that's not even the HSR 24 Hour, ironically sponsored by IMSA this year

Yeah, Group 5 cars, GTP/GrC. Audi R8 at Daytona where it never ran in period. The Group 44 Jaguar GTP, howling around. 962's. I guess that would make up for missing the "Dairy Daughters," but you could always download some of their music and have both worlds.

Just turned it on with about 1:45 left. Surprisingly decent battles considering the grid size of an exhibition race.

I've realized that the Gulf 12 hours which is on Dec 15 is pretty much what the Sebring Encore should have been but failed miserably.
