kartman24 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2020 Qualifying, just 1/2 hour on Friday?

Am i reading it correctly, all cars for the 24 hour race have just a 30 min session on Friday to qualify their car, what happens if they can`t make the time percentage rule in that time, are they excluded as is the norm?

No, AFAIK there will be a much longer Q1 on Thursday and the best 6 cars of each class from Q1 will make it to the short Q2 session on Friday which is called Hyperpole

Not sure about 'much longer'. The full field qualifying session is only 45 minutes. Today (Thursday) 17.15 to 18.00 local time. Fastest 6 from each class get into the 30 minute pole shoot out tomorrow.

There's also plenty of 'free practice' running today, but it will be interesting to see what happens if a car has an issue and some/all the drivers don't do a minimum number of laps (if that is even a thing this year?).

qualifying laps are a thing, of course. so some teams will be under pressure to get their laps completed. If it were me I'd be doing them now whilst the track isn't rubbered in. Get it ticked off the list and then see where the times are.
