Must see lists for 2003
What's on everyone's must see lists for 2003? If you could pick 5-10 national/club championships that you've got to see at least one race of, post them here! Here's mine (and in no particular order).
Porsche 924s Powermod Alfa Romeos Renault Clios 750MC Stock Hatch Formula Vee Citroen 2CVs Formula Palmer Audi Scottish XR2s Northern Sports/Saloons |

I didn't get to see any of the TVR Tuscan rounds last year, so my New Season's Resolution is to rectify that in '03.

Mighty/Super Mighty Minis
MGOC 2CV FSaloons CTCRC To be honest though, the more series I get to see (saloons taking definite preference over single seaters) and the more locations, the better! |

750MC meeting at Cadwell Park on a summers afternoon.. then a trip to Louth to sample the Timoty Tailor (beer, if anyone's unsure).. How can you better that?
Perhaps a trip to Le Mans.. |

Maisie, do I detect a bit of a liking to those Mighty Mini people-whatever for? They are a miserable lot, badly turned out cars, slow, never any decent racing, bad grids, naff paint jobs, I just cant understand what you see in them honestly...hey, hang on a minute-sorry I meant the complete opposite!!

Think you're confusing them with the Ford XR Challenge, Baz...

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Mini Se7en or Mini Miglia...
Patrick, I go along with your Castle Combe thoughts although having marshalled the FF's on several occassions they can be a bit scary. Did I read correctly somewhere that Bob Light sold his B6 to David Krayem ?? Or am I going mad.... GT's should be good as long as the Jades are around. Saloons... AWESOME My list. TVR Tuscans Mini Se7en/Miglia Formula Saloons Combe Championships Actually Does it matter as long as the grids are big and the racing good..... It's not far away now ! |

The A class cars are underated but also disapearing !!!!, how many raced in 2002 compared with 1999 / 2000 ?.
Good to see FSaloons so popular, makes all the hard work worthwhile. |

N M Ramsden you are not going mad. Bob Light did sell his Stealth to David Krayem, it will be interesting to see how he goes in that up against the Jades. I hope they will be back. I noticed Krayem's car was up for sale hopefully someone will buy it and run it at Combe. One car that I would like to see back is Steve Donovan's turbocharged Radical, I reckon that could be very quick with some development!

Like "nissan" I am pleased to see the formula saloons are popular. Hopefully all the promised cars will appear and once I get my back sorted and/or sell the Honda, can do more rounds. With Dave Brodie and Gerry Marshall, what are the chances of Andy Rouse joining in with his newly acquired DTM Merc.
Meetings on my must see list include: Brisca F.1 (especially the World Final at Coventry), a British rallycross round (good to see Brands is back on the list), the Nurburgring 24 hours (yes it is a glorified club event, but over 200,000 people turn up and the atmosphere is something else!),International Super Sports on GP circuit Brands, and the world sidecars (they know how to party). |

N.M Ramsden...I think you maybe a little mad actually! The 2 Combe GT races I saw last year was nearly as interesting as watching the grass grow! Within a lap the whole field had spread out with hardly any overtaking-the only passing was when the leader spun off (during 1 of the races) and rejoined...my lap charts proove it!! Hopefully it will improve this year...Maisie, only joking of course! can't miss a Mini race though It will be a toss between the Mighty's and the M7/Miglia's as a few weekends sadly clash so it might be which ones nearest. Find it strange that Rodgers "Xtreme Mini" championship is not on at the same circuit as the Mighty's.

Yeah, I would've thought they'd have all Rodger Tello's Flying Circus together.
Add VSRs and Legends to my list too. |

Snapper... OK... each to there own.. Difficult to judge on 2 races I feel. However, my message did say "GT's should be good as long as the Jades are around."
Should be !!! The Combe Championships do brighten some duller days especially from a Marshal's point of view ! |

I must admit that there was some pretty nice machines out there in the Combe GT's...those Jade's being one them! Where have all the old Prosports gone? There was a time when you would see at least 6 or 7 out or have they one by one thrown themselves at the Quarry banking!

Mmm... I seem to remember quite a few ending up stuck in the tyre wall at Quarry... Actually my first ever visit to Combe I saw one destroyed at Quarry....
The saloon car championship is cracking... The FF's close racing but very accident prone. |
