BA Rear Wings
Seems that there is a weakness in some of the BA rear wings. Both Max Wilson and Russell Ingall broke rear wings during testing at QR today. In testing Ingall is fastest followed by Ambrose.

I think Ingall 1.11.34 ; Ambrose 1.11.45 and Radisich 1.11.48

No biggy, it will be just change the way the wing mounts or strengthen the mounts, should not be too much drama, could also be manufacturing fualts as well, I am sure we will know soon enough

Whatever is causing the problems with the rear wings and the front splitters, it is a bit late in the day to be trying to fix or build 12 or so new aero kits. After all, there's just over a week before the cars begin practice for their first race of the year.

Still, each team has 15+ blokes working for them, there are a lot of people out there who can make wings, there are a lot of fabricators etc etc

The wings are composites, made from moulds taken from an original wing. At the moment due to supply issues, most of these parts were bought in from a supplier to FPV, nat made by their usual composite contractor.
I doubt its a design flaw, the demo BA had no such dramas, but once commercialised it turns to mud The top teams will get their heads around the issue and have it fixed reasonably quickly |

And I assume the aero testing didn't show up any weeknesses, and I would have thought this would have tekan the cars to max do/f levels, BJR, SER and Briggs didn't suffer the problem, only 2 cars suffered it so perhaps its a manufacturing fault rather than a design fault?
Only a minor problem though, i'd expect to see BA's with those centre rods fitted just in case. |

Didn't they have this same problem with the AU? Thus the reason for the centre support. Sounds like the same old problems. To much rear downforce. Maybe they should get rid of those end supports and go for the Holden rear wing.

allegedly that is the reason why DJRs launch was set back, seems they found a fault in the rear wing due to manufacturing problems. it would give you great confidence going into the first race of the year knowing the wing fails whilst the car is in the workshop
then again if any team knows about wing failure it would be dick, think back to bathurst 95 when they had a sprint round there & his wing broke giong into the chase |

Do they have wing supprts in the middles of the wing itself-a small metal rod between bootlid and bottom of the wing? I'm sure the AU had this?
