IRL Video Game.

I've just been browsing the new website for the latest Codemasters racing sim epic, and despite some initial reservations about the subject matter (I would have preferred CART to the IRL) the game is shaping up very nicely indeed. Having seen the various shots and vids it looks like Codemasters have really captured the feel of racing wheel to wheel on an oval and 2003 drivers and teams are added in some instances, such as Franchitti, and Scheckter in the Ganassi car.

It's due out in a few weeks, and knowing Codemasters it will be a success, so I for one can't wait. It's about time American open wheeler racing got the recognition it deserves.

Anyone got any opinions on this game?

lol, ditto. I've been so desperate for such a game that I've resorted to playing the five year old Newman-Haas Racing....that can go in the bin when this arrives!

i would like it soon as well, Indy/Champs split not with standing, this should be a fun and involved game. Ovals are more fun to race and play at then to watch i feel

I was disappointed to see that Codemasters hadn't spiced things up with a few road courses, but seems they've stuck to reality and it thus should be extremely authentic.

Hey guys, there is an IRL: Indy Car series coming out for PS2 by Codemasters. It will come out in late spring, early summer.

Only bad thing for us european NASCAR-fans is, there is no euro PAL versions of NASCAR games, like Thunder, but I've heard Infogrames/Atari will have PAL version of their Heat this year.
Of course there is a PC and Papyruses games, but PC just is not for playing. (This old thing of mine surely isn't!)

Yeah I want a PAL NASCAR game too. I still own NASCAR 2000, as far as I know that's the most recent to have been released in the UK.

cool. Good game, looks a bit rough these days but some of the wheel-to-wheel racing is brilliant. I want to know if a NASCAR game exists on the Nintendo Gamecube....there is a disc called the freeloader which playes US imports for that machine, but not Xbox or PS2 unfortunately...
