These are terrific! Rare to see many photos from a great series and a great year. QUESTION: there were I think almost a dozen or so "Mk 5" Eagle Chevy Formula A cars sold to customers in 68-69. How come you never see any today at historic meets anywhere (i.e. compared, say, with M10's)? Does anyone know who owns any of these cars?

I'm looking for pictures and articles on Kurt Reinold's #4 McKee Formula 5000 Mk 12C Chevrolet which was raced between 1969 - 1971.

Welcome to 10-Tenths, Fastlane. There is a reference to the short run of F5000 McKees in Bernard Cowdrey's book, 'Formula 5000 - The A-Z'. It says that in 1968 McKee built 3 Mk8s, one of which was driven by Reinold. The following year, Bob McKee built the Mk12 version, one of which was for Central Division SCCA for Reinold to drive so this is probably the car to which you are referring (and the car at #4, above). Unfortunately, not a lot more detail is provided and it doesn't tell us the numbers built or the chassis numbers. The book is scarce as it only had a limited edition run of 500 and was published in 1998.

John, thanks for the info. I have a copy of Cowdrey's book, and as I write this email I'm looking at the picture of Trowbridge's car. I own Reinold's McKee 12C. I just bought it last month, and am in the process of restoring it. I want to put a book together on the history of the car... with pictures, articles, programs... etc. Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated. My email is Formula5000@sbcglobal.net.

Yes Allen.... Not many people live in Peoria who own a McKee F5000. But there is one more...... I have sent you two emails about the car's history.

Allen, given that I have always considered you the "go-to guy" for F/A & F5000 -- sorry Wolfgang and no lack of respect intended but you are no. 2 on the list, that was what prompted the query, as belated as it was, being puzzled by the remark. Believe me, it was not meant in any way to be "snarky" or whatever, just that it caught me off guard, it not being like your other remarks. It just struck me as odd for some reason.
