Classic Endurance Racing : a new serie

Jérôme Mugnier's site is announcing today the creation of the Classic Endurance Racing, as a support serie of the new LMES championship, organized by Peter Auto (Patrick Peter).

Possible entries :
- endurance cars (24 hours of Le Mans or Daytona, 12 hours of Sebring, 1000 Kms of Monza, Nürburgring, Spa)
- some guest cars could enter too : prototypes (from 1966 to 1972) and GT (from 1966 to 1973).

Format :
- free practice : 30 minutes
- qualification practice : 2 x 30 minutes
- race : 1 hour, with one stop in the pit
- 1 or 2 pilot by car

Schedules :
Monza : 9 Mai
Silverstone : 14 Août
Nürburgring : 3 Juillet
Spa : 12 Septembre

this looks like an interesting series, but lets hope it stays mostly sports prototype and not become a load of 911's and MG's! Is the Silverstone date the Historic Festival date? The Spa date is the 6 Hour meeting

sorry????
why not? the grids are always oversubsribed for Spa???
so is this series going to support the FIA GT series? In itself one of the most interesting in modern racing

That date is for the current FIA championship. The Six Hours meeting is not currently on any calendar. I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like the meeting has either been shifted or (perish the thought) canned.

Anyway the series looks great.

Spa 6 hour meeting is on 18-19th sept just had it in my HSCC 2004 calender

likewise 10 days on Belgian rations and two weekends of racing sounds like near perfection . . . .although after last years wining and dining I'm not sure theres a car there that would pull me up Eu Rouge after a weeks feasting !
