Traction control

I have a question about traction control that im hoping someone can answer for me.

yes I hate the thing and it should be banned but for the cheating thing i guess for now it wont.

But after attending Albert park on friday I noticed alot of differences between the systems just in the sounds of the cars.

are there different systems available ?

for example the majority of the cars from where I stood it was only slightly noticeable but on the Minardi's it was very pronounced , you could really hear the traction control working and working hard compared to the other teams.

Is this just a case of other teams spending more money on the system then them or do they completely rely on it at a higher level than the other teams ?

Most probably it's because Minardi don't have the funds to get the TC programming spot on to their engine-suspension-tyre-tranny combo and setup purely because of lack of data, so I'd guess it's programmed to work first and foremost, instead of like many others who only program in degrees of working exactly how well.
Particularly manufacturer teams, who can get the engine people data very easily and work together I'd also guess.

All guesswork, but mostly just data and experiance of technicians.

Added to the fact, that Mercedes have whole divisions working on that kind of stuff for their roadcars.

It's a shame it can't really be banned. If it could it'd be gone for sure. That and paddle shift/semi automatic have got to go.

And this anti-stall stuff on a ten second timer?

I agree, a manual activation clutch with a 'disengage lock' in case of emergancies with some form of manual shift would be very nice. I bet many racers would love the prospect of doing it too.
