Ford V8 firing sequence
I was wondering what the firing sequence of a Ford V8 90 degrees would be?
One of my friends told me: 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2 Could anybody confirm this? |

1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 but that's on a modified Corvette C5.
Can't remember the firing sequence of a 90° Ford V8 though. Shouldn't this be in the Tech forum btw? Last edited by ASCII Man; 14 Mar 2004 at 19:54. |

Early ford v8 firing order 1,5,4,2,6,3,7,8
Newer ford v8 firing order 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8 If you can be a little more specific as to what V8, (windsor/cleveland/year) it shouldnt be too difficult to work out. Ford made a large range of 90 deg v8's Last edited by DannyG; 15 Mar 2004 at 07:23. |

We were talking about the Ford Cosworth V8 90 degrees that equipped the Lotus cars in 1967.

Fords are not fired the same as Chevy, I know that. Even the newer Chevy's are not fired in the same order as the older units.

Thanks DannyG.
I hope your friend is right. My friend said he read it in one of his books and I know he is searching for the answer. I'll get back to you when he finds it. |
