Post Monza LMES entry

With a fantastic entry at Monza, what kind of entries should we expect for the rest of the LMES.

The 2 Epsilon Courage C65s should enter from the the Nurburgring onwards, while the new Luchinni LMP1 should debut later in the season.

What LMP1/2 cars have commited for the season?

I have a feeling a number of cars will enter the series after Le Mans once they have observed the first race and seen what the Chmapionship is made of.

There is also a certain logic (though one with which I disagree) to sitting out the Monza race if you're going to La Sarthe; you don't want to crash at Monza and spoil your Le Mans chance.

I think we will see RFH in the LMES after Monza. I had an e-mail from them a few weeks back saying as much.

Maybe they have put resources into there LM program in the hope of attracting a lot of publicity and new sponsors.

I'm sure there would be a lot of interest from sponsors to see the ex-F1 guys race at Silverstone.

We should also put this LMES season into perspective. Its the first season after a terrible year for the FIA SCC, yet lots of cars have come out of the woodwork.

IMO, a number of FIA GT teams will also switch to prototypes in 2005 as the manufactuer teams begin to squeaze out all but the best funded privateers in FIA GT's.

It is a line of logic that I disagree with as well....

Especially since "Automatic Bids" can be obtained by your class placement for the LMES Season for the following year...top two places in each class get an auto bid...

You miss one of the four races, and it will seriously damage an opportunity to earn an aoutomatic bid...

and this year's "Selection Fiasco" at LM should tell teams...especially somebody like RfH...that noting is certain when it comes to the "Invite" process....

I'd give my team every possible chance to "earn" a bid on the racetrack....

They can't take that away from you!!!!

That way, you can possibly control your own destingy by competing...

Do you think Chris Dyson wants to race more in Europe?
Justion Wilson is probably to busy with Champcar. So drivers: Lammers, Dyson, Coronel/Firman?

I'm with Tim. After all, every race throws up the possibility of crashing or wrecking your car, so safer really not to compete at all, just tuck the car away in the garage under a dust-sheet.

Chris will get a lot of "frequent Flyer" miles if he does...the ALMS and LMES dates don't conflict, but he'd do a lot of traveling to amke the dates work...

BTW...I believe that he is in the RfH car as a way fro the Dyson Team to get a foot in the door to acquiring a new regs & specs Dome Chassis for next season....

at least that was the scuttlebutt on another thread in this Forum about a month back...

Is Dome not capable of building enough cars for RfH, Kondo AND Dyson?

I'm just passing along what was posted on another thread...

Maybe they want the "top priority" treatment when upgrades do go around later, etc....there have to be "preferred" customers like Lammers, who runs the thing and tests it year after year, as opposed to a "one-off" team that would run it...or a "new" customer with a history of "Chassis hopping"...which if you look at Dyson, they have done a lot...

R&S Mk IIIA

a Reynard they tested at Daytona

The R&S Mk IIIC

a Crawford Chassis for a few Grand Am events

now the MG-Lola for their 2nd full season...

There is a conflict in the schedule, Tim. July 4th weekend, ALMS is at Lime Rock and LMES is at the Nurburgring.

It seems that the RFH team won't enter : Jan sais last week-end that he didn't want to compete the ex-LMP675, having a definitive advantage in beeing much lighter... but is it confirmed by Dutch sources ? FIRE ? Sander ? Vinnie ? Frank ?

I think RFH will miss Monza, if only to save their cars for their big LM attack.

How can he say that, when experience from the ALMS and LM shows the 675kg cars rarely have the reliability to complete a race distance at full pace. They are very quick over one lap but struggle to sustain that pace over 500k, never mind 1000k.

The 1000K races will surely favour the 900kg cars.

The result of PQs made certainly think some teams...

But I prefer to keep in mind that the main reason is to gather forces for the big one...

As I say, over one lap they are super quick. Not sure about reliability however.

Looking a little further ahead, if the Zyteks want to stay competitive into 2005, they will have to be converted to hybrid LMP1 cars, which in turn would require them to run at 900KG.

Also what is the score with Dome. Are they now looking at building a new LMP1 for RFH, Konda, Dyson?

Well that's what he said for a while now and remains unchanged. Lets see if he goes in to detail on television tomorrow.

well, it seems that the monza track is a lemans track in 1/2 scale so jan will maybe regret his choice. We all know the exellent top speed of the dome judd. A chance of winning which is flying away???
