Most doofy team-mate (BTCC)
Well, plenty of races in now, and there are plenty of not so bright stars in the multi-car teams this year - or at least ones that have 'lowered' the standard, according to some drivers.
Which one you first want to see ousted and replaced with any of the fine array of drivers waiting in the ranks - as if you had a choice! (Note: The options in this poll are the lesser scoring driver in each team with two or more entrants) |

I hope people stay polite in this topic
As for opinions, I've got to say Fariqe Hairuman - the more I see of him, the less he deserves to be there. |

I'd go with Farique as well, Rob Huff has been ok this year but the Seat bill for front bumpers is going to be huge!!!

I think we're all much happier having a go, little tension relief. Quote:
Personally, I've opted for Hines. He's just so far behind his team mates and isn't making any significant kind of progress. Hairuman's obviously strong competition for this one - though maybe it's just that Watson-Smith is absolutely brilliant? |

From that list I would go for 2 Fariqe Hairuman, sorry he just rubbish and is basiclly making up the numbers.
The other one I would get from that list is Luke Hines I just think that he brings anything to the VX line up, last year they had Owy and he could mix it with the big boys where as Hines can't. |

Fariqe Hairuman I'm afraid. Its not been good for the him to be in the BTCC.
I'm sure he's a competent driver, but he never seems to have a competative race. I just wish Proton had held onto the vastly experienced David Leslie. |

Luke Hines for me - that's a front running car he's got there, he should be challenging for race wins consistently. Fariqe Hairuman hasn't done a lot either, he's been totally blown away by SWS.

Hines seems to be improving gradually, and you should bear in mind that this is only his second year in tin-tops of any kind, and he's never raced against a field of anything clsoe to this calibre. Paul O'Neill was no better in his first year in the Vauxhall, and that was against a weaker and less varied field.
Hairuman has to be the choice - he hasn't looked competant at any point in the proceedings, although in fairness the tracks are new to him. |

SWS might have pulled out some star performances that could put anyone in the shade, but Farique has been particularly bad - and gets my vote

Sadly, I'll join the anti-Farique list - still think the team would had done better if they kept Lesile but thats my view.
Rob has had a great start to his BTCC career, in a car in which is still new and I look forward to Rob taking on the top drivers near the end of the season (well, hes doing that now anyway...). CT...emmm...another driver who hasn't shown his light like he did last season, and going upagainst Reid he has been a disappointment. CBH - another driver who really has failed in the BTCC. I don't know about you lot but I think it would be fair for the team if he was replaced. I know Burt hasn't done alot in a simular car but CBH shouldn't be fighting for last place in what is a ex race winning Astra. Another 2 drivers I think should be commented on are Marsh (Team Varta) and maybe Keen (BMW). Haven't really seen the cars up at the front lately but I hope its down to the weight the ETCC have to carry and that they can now get into the top 10 during the race's for some point's which the team's do deserve. |

I guess it has to be Hairuman, he really seems like he has no place in a topline race series and has been totally outshone by SWS, who deserves a better ride than the Proton. Clearly sponsorship reasons have helped Hairuman to his drive. I would also say Hines has been very disappointing considering the machinery he has, personally if I was Vauxhall i'd be trying to swop him for Watson Smith.

I went with Huff, yes he is fast but after the last races I was not very impressed with the driving standard. I did not vote the others because Luke Hines might be slower at the moment but his team mates are far more experienced and he is keeping his nose clean and hopefully will make progresss though the year, Dan Eaves again needs some track time, Colin Turkington, victim of other peoples accidents/seems to have a target painted on his car especailly in some of the earlier rounds. He is constaintly up there at the front and will, I believe, end the series close or above Reid. Does Fariqe Hairuman know the circuits? He might be in need of a few driving lessons around them but at least he is trying and not binning it into other drivers. Charlie Butler-Henderson , again trying, could do better but if he calms it a bit and gets a break could begin to show through.

Crash.net are reporting that Edenbridge and Keen have pulled out for the season. Peter Briggs is quoted, so it seems definite.

Hairuman as well for me. I've been wondering all season if there was any reason other than the sponsorship for him making it into the series.
Does anyone know what his track record is prior to the BTCC? Has he had success in other formulae? |

I'm led to believe that he has no other experience, and his last job was a parking attendant. Make of that what you will

Prior to becoming a racing driver he was in charge of the CCTV system at the race circuit in Johor. He'd only had a driving licence 3 months when he was picked up to become part of Petronas' intensive driver training programme. That was in 2001. Since then he's done the Asian Touring Car Championship and a number of New Zealand endurance races. He's had a few class wins in ATCC, but in that was in a 1600cc production/group-N spec Civic.
In fairness I'm sure he was good in the ATCC but there's a world of difference between a group N Civic and a BTC-Tourer. |
