Brands F3 crowd
What time do you think I should get there (driving to Brands myself for the first time)? Don't want to get stuck in a queue for hours!
How do you think it will compare to the BTCC finale (I camped there, but not possible this weekend...) |

I don't think there is much danger of being stuck in a queue for hours. The crowd might be marginally larger than for the average club meeting.

Oh yeah?
Just wondering, with it being the season finale and everything, although I don't think it gets the same sort of excitement as the BTCC... |

Plus rain is forecast... hope it does, haven't been to a really wet race this year, F3/GT at Brands spitted a bit, had a 10 second shower at Snet a couple of weeks ago, and it was pretty wet on Saturday at Donny last weekend, but no major wet races

F3/GT doesn't pull the crowds in like the BTC, unless MSV has actually promoted the weekend. |

The only queue is likely to be if there is the car boot sale just off the M25 junction.
The weather is looking dry for all day Saturday and Sunday morning. I've invested £2.49 in an umbrella from the Chav Superstore (aka. Sports-Soccer). Also a big hurrah to DailySportscar.com and John Guest for their competition prizes of free entry on Sunday and a pass for their hospitality, unluckily I'm not shy around the buffet. |

As for rain, I hope not as there is nothing worse than standing in the rain for two days! Practice/Racing starts at 09.00 Saturday and 10.00 Sunday so as long as you are there before then you won't miss anything. Allow yourself 30 mins to get from the car park to whereever you want to start viewing from. Journey time from the M25 exit is about 10 mins. Last edited by Stephen Green; 1 Oct 2004 at 13:11. |

Yeah, I've been plenty times before, just not driven there myself. Hopefully the south bank will be open, we usually park there.

John Guest have been giving tickets away so there could be a sizeable crowd. Don't know if it's of the magnitude of the FIA GT giveaway

There was a bigger crowd last weekend than I expected at Donny, as Auto Express (I think!) were giving away free tickets.
Weather forecast is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1612 Comes up as Longfield, but I put the Brands circuit postcode in. |

Is anyone going on Saturday? If so we should be there in a support race, white Lotus Escort in the Southern saloon races.

I was there today and there were no crowds, in fact it was quieter than a normal club meeting. The road works are gone from the M25/A20 roundabout so I think you will get in with no problems. Have a good day and look out for the Embassy racing girls

Sorry Tim/Eric but must have missed you on Saturday!
Bigger crowd today (Sunday) but I hear John Guest gave away a lot of tickets so that might account for some of the extra numbers. Unfortunately Saturdays never draw much crowd wise and I think that stems back to the days when it was only practice on Saturdays and racing on Sundays. So Falcemob, did you beat Mr Birley in the saloon car race since he had problems with his gearbox I believe? |

Good day today! Good races, and nice crowd, not too packed, but not a deserted look either.
But it was a bit wet at times wasn't it? Glad I got a lens filter for my camera yesterday... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...nds_F3GT/3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...nds_F3GT/1.jpg |

well I saw you Stephen - I stood taking pictures of the GTs behind your post.
There was queues for J Guest hospitality but the crowd was not that large and the rain soon thinned them out. |

Hehe yeah, a lot left after the GT's, I had to help some guy push his car on the South Bank, it was just wheelspinning in the mud
