That's some grid - more talent and champions than you could wish for, Thompson, Tarquini, Rydell, Menu, Larini, Giovanardi, Priaulx etc..

I fear only 7 private cars, crossing fingers if manufacturers (thanks to FIA or not) lose interest in WTCC.
I hope this can change during European races. Last edited by E46; 20 Mar 2005 at 09:37. |

During the Monza tests days (22-23 March) there will be 32 cars on track: the 24 confirmed plus 5 from Italian Superturismo Championship (Balzan, De Lorenzi, Valli...) and 3 from STCC (Engstrom, Hellstrom and Borgudd). Engstrom and Hellstrom will be in Monza also for the first race on 10th April.

List doesn't contain many surprises. Where's RS-Line? Though they were running some old look Focii again?
Bye bye Peugeot, bye bye Civic (GR Asia). |

So we can assume that the Brilliance thing is dead and burried for this year, at least? Great pity as we need new manufacturers; I just hope that the ill-fortune that befell this extremely ambitious project hasn't made the Chinese decide to stop completely and that they use this year to properly plan and develop their entry, perhaps to do some races later on and be ready for 2006.

Used to be traditional in Formula One too once upon a time. It's so far been tradition for Alfa Romeo of course to carry #1 in the ETCC so far |

I agree with Gabrio - as previosusly discussed inthe Team China Brilliance thread - it was John Batchelor & John Barnard who created the whole deal and it was difficult enough without the problems they encountered with their car builder - and it is all of those aspects that Brilliance do not understand. That is exactly why manufacturers use specialists.

Tom Coronel will drive SEAT Sport Hollands Toledo Cupra.
GR Asia runs two Toledos for SEAT Sport Holland. http://www.fiawtcc.com/2k5/readnews.asp?id=526 |

I'm truly amazed by this Absolutely fantastic. I was suprised to see him race in the Dutch Seat Ibiza Cupra Cup, as well as Paulien Zwart, and thought it was absolutely ridiculous they sunk back to that starters level, but this is great news for Dutch Motorsport!
It's probably stupid and I'm sure it won't happen, but I hope the winner of last years Dutch Seat Ibiza Cupra Cup, Sheila Verschuur, will get the second seat in the Seat Picture of Sheila : |

So they will enter as a factory team? I am curious who will drive the 2nd car. Hope it will be a good driver and not a pay driver. Last edited by FIRE; 29 Mar 2005 at 19:12. |
