I am going to be very recent with my vote for most attractive, but my favourite car is the 2003 Williams BMW: the FW25. An elegant, simple, beautifully liveried car that won races. However, there are lots of cars from all eras that run it close. Just can't be arsed listing them.
Most boring car. It's hard to say. Most of the modern cars are quite dull when you think of them in terms of major innovation and all that. But they all have interesting features, it's just the windows for these features grow ever smaller. |

I just cannot give an entry for boring.
Now, in terms of that most wonderfully subjective thing of beauty.... I cannot say there is one that is much better than the rest... There are the Ferraris of the 50's; the Tyrells of the early 70's; the Lotus' of the Clark era..... I would rate the Ferraris/Mclaren of the last 4 years as rather attractive. I dunno, there are so many more than this......lots of different cars from different times.... If forced to pick one.... I would find it hard to look beyond the Lotus 25. |

Most attractive cars:
Ferrari 412T2; Sauber C13 (before the Swatch sponsorship and the head protection); Jordan 191. Despite the obvious unpleasant associations, I still think the Williams FW16 was a fine looking car. Most boring car: I can't think of any cars that I can't remember, which can't be that boring... |

A car that has always stuck in my mind was the 1998 Tyrell 026, it was very attractive and had a great livery.
One of the most boring looking F1 cars (if there is such a thing!!) was the Williams FW20. It had a really boring livery. |

From a sponsorship point of view
The best looking ones are up the front of the grid. The worst ones are not. From my point of view I like the wingless/sponsorshipless varieties Anything with a winglet (WTFIT) comes at the bottom. |

All the John Player Special sponsored Lotus' were gorgious, but preferably with the bright yellow helmet of Senna in it.
One of the worst cars, the brabham from the mid eighties with those really small side pods... |

I liked the 1992-1993 Williams, the 1994 one I initially hated, but have grown too love.
The 1991 Ferrari was great, aswell as the 94 model, and the Bennetton from 92-93 was something I liked aswell, also the 1990 era one I enjoyed aswell mmmm...primary colours! And the Jordan from '93. Ooh! and the Larrouse from 93 was it? I'm not sure if it was good, but purple, yellow and red sure stands out! |

Best, 250F 1957 or Rob Walker Lotus 49, or the 7Up Jordan
Worst, well I really dont think the Ferrari from 1993 looks right somehow but that might be the livery. I would like to see some of the cars from the modern era running in national colours and with large numbers and no stickers, just to see which have the best lines. Would a Vanwall have looked so good dressed up like a fag packet? |

My favourite was the arrows a2 but I think the most attractive had to be the black & gold JPS lotus with Senna's yellow helmut staunched behind the wheel.

Got to agree with the Arrows A2, there. Absolutely stunning. I also thought there was something understatedly attractive about the Alfa 177 (nothing to do with being brought up by an Alfa freak, honest...). All JPS Loti as well - I guess I'm a product of my times!
I like Remus' idea of seeing the modern cars with just numbers - might have to fire up Photoshop after qualifying this afternoon! |

I quite liked the Benetton B191 because it was different than practically everyone else, except Tyrrell iirc...
Most favourite car has to be the 1990 Williams while the most boring is uhm... can't name one dull or boring car, they've all been interesting in their own ways! Although I did like the 1987 Camel Lotus Honda... |

Maybe it's nostalgia (I started following F1 in 1991) but I've always considered the early 90s cars the most attractive - the '91 Jordan and the '94 Simtek, the Ligiers from 1991-1994 would be amongst my favourites (OK, I'm probably influenced by livery first and shape second). The trend for high-noses led to F1 cars becoming generally uglier from 1995+ to my eyes. |

Loved the JPS and Tissot Essex Lotus of late 70s.
loved wide-flat cars of late 70s early 80s with big rear wheels etc. They all look pretty much the same now, at least the current Mclaren is a bit unique with that angled wing on the top. I think the US champ cars look better these days (flame suit on) mmm shiny-chrome wheels |

I concur on the champcars looking nicer than F1 cars these days thing though!
Those Lola nosecones remind me of the 1995 Ferrari. Yes, the Pre-Schumi days! |

The Brabham Bt 46 with the solar heating/cooling sytem before they stuck the fan on looked wicked, the Lotus 76 with the electric clutch also looked like a rocket, the Hesketh 308C with the rubber shocks looked purposeful, and the ill fated Embassy GH3? that never raced was a looker too.Just goes to show looks aint everything in F1.
Most boring would have to be the big fat ugly square,so fat in fact it couldn't fit in the plane hold, and so slow and unreliable it would have been hard pushed to win a Trabant race, wish we never made such an embarssing comeback BRM P207,which destroyed the F1 career of Larry Perkins and the host of other renta-drivers that tried to qualify it in 1977. Second most boring all the Lotus 79 clones that appeared in 1980,all the desiners that year should have been arrested for plagarism. |
