Great news, both for Ford and for Gronholm, he's bound to be happier at Ford than he is at Peugeot.

Good on Ford to get a driver such as Gronholm on board who will without doubt help the team along a great deal.

This move does surprise me.
Hopefully Ford can get back to the top with Marcus onboard, provided they don't use Peugeot gearboxes! |

Strange
The respected gentlemen & ladies of the Press were telling last week us that it was private Citroen team that Gronholm was joining with Loeb for 2006. Then the works Citroen would return in 2007 with a "dream team". |

That was the plan, but Marcus got a better offer.
I'm sure he'll do well at Ford, but I have to say I have little enthusiasm left for rallying after the events in Wales |

I think it's a good move for both Ford and Gronholm, Ford get an experienced driver (something they've badly missed this year) and Gronholm gets a full works drive. Hopefully the new Focus will be on the pace and we'll see Gronholm going for wins
KB - whilst events in Wales have cast a shadow over the sport my enthusiasm for rallying remains the same - we all know the risks involved, despite the numerous safety measures motorsport will never be 100% safe. Have fatal accidents in F1 and other branches of motorsport dulled your enthusiasm for them? Or is it something rallying specific? |

Gotta admit that the Beef incident does leave a bit of a regretful tinge about the rest of the year, I think Markko has done the right thing by sitting out the remaining rallies.
As for Marcus, I think its a brilliant move, driving for Citroen would be no good coz the car is built, designed and run for Seb, even in a private team it would be the same, he developed the thing and got it to where it is with the help of Carlos in particular in 04. Unless Marcus drives the same way he could have dstruggled. With the Ford, htey have the new Focus coming, he can be their Loeb or Makinen and build the car how he wants it to be so to speak. I think it is the right decision for his and the teams future as Marcus is clearly as quick as anyone, possibly quickest of all. |

Possibly because my following of rallying has never been to the same level as my following of racing, but I agree there's not a rational reason for it. I suppose when you watch a race you're always aware something could happen, but as the Park death was news which filtered through when I was on holiday it caught me off guard I suppose. |

He should be more competitive as he was with the Pugeot 307wrc. Will be intresting to see what he can do next year.
