I don't think Minardi have ever been anything other than "strapped for cash". It's a great testament to them that they're still here. They've brought on many young drivers over the years. And they've provided some great memories. Front row in the USGP was marvellous - as was leading at Estoril. |

indeed, the cars Minardi drive now have exactly the same monocoque as the PS02 Mark Webber used to drive, so they already raced 2 full seasons with the "new" PS04.

Actually The "Andrea Moda" parallel is not at all exaggerated. Yes, yes, I don't like Paul Stoddard.

The Andrea Moda parallel is totally exaggerated, as any comparison of the facts would demonstrate.

Not at all. Andrea moda entered F1 to get "free/cheap advertising", Paul Stoddard entered F1 to get rich. Neither of them wanted to compete.

I'd venture that Paul Stoddard was a hell of a lot richer when he entered F1 than he is now.
He's an enthusiast, not a profiteer. |

No. He's richer now. And "enthusiats" is just a mask.

Red, get a grip!
You've always been 'fringe' (thats what I've liked about you ) but your losing the plot now. PS is no Frank Williams, and never will be. He does however love racing. I wonder, is FW & RD in it because it makes money, or because they dont have another weekend hobby? |

Paul's in it because he loves it. He already had a F3000 team and a fleet of vintage F1 cars, for his own entertainment and bought out of his considerable fortune. He's also smart enough to know the old axiom that the only way to make a small fortune in F1 is to start with a large one.

Yeah, he can't possibly have made any money from F1. And didn't he have to sell parts of his airline industry to keep going in F1? The guys got a resolve born out of his enthusiasm for the sport.
