Did Mercedes say something about customer engines?
Seeing the "success" and "fast speed" of those silver arrows this year, i as a team manager would never go for the mercedes engine in my life as a sensible human being.
I thought it was a miracle after both the mclarens finished the race. BTw i don't get one thing. What's with the mercedes engine and the constant blowing up? Do the mercedes engineers forget to tight the screws or what? This year is proving to be pathetic for the mclaren team. Let's wait and see what the MP/4-19 can do. And at the same time there is not a single failure for the Ferrari team. Do they put a magic potion inside the ferrari engine? I as a Mclaren fan cannot see this plethora of blowjobs *cough* engine blowups every race. |

Yeah, but then again, you don't even watch F1, let alone lead a team, so that's ok.. |

If you don't watch F1 races, it's rather strange that you feel the need to have such strong opinions about them.

Red, listen to that advice and read it a few more times... Maybe you'd see THE point Yeah..combining the two thread, i hope he understand that it's HIS Mclaren which is hugely responsible for making F1 so boring |

To get back to your original topic...Mercedes were briefly mentioned as possible engine suppliers, but I don't think this was a very serious possibility, more of a card to play in the political maneouverings last year. As for the future, I'm sure the last thing Mercedes want is for Ilmor to take on any customer deals, they have enough on their plate. I am always curious why any F1 'fans' accuse Ferrari of making F1 boring? You can only race against the opposition provided and this year they have barely had any, and what there has been in the way of a challenge from other teams, is patchy at best. In reality it's up to the other big manufacturers to raise their game and be able to challenge Ferrari at each and every race. Last edited by Super Tourer; 14 Jun 2004 at 12:41. |

Hmm, GtR, no reason to read again; the only point I've seen was the one that Boots mentioned above..
