Marc Gene will be a solid replacement, if required.

Gene had an easier time last year, if he is indeed called back to replace Ralf..he may find a tougher game on his hands.
It's good to hear Ralf's ok and that there's no side effect. Hopefully he can recover in the next week plus and get bacck to the wheels soon. |

And as for the visor problem.. i think someone who represnts the helmet manufacturer ought to come up with an explanation.. It's meant to stay closed isn't it?

The new FIA helmet standard is designed to try and avoid this from happening. The standards have a requirement that the visor has to be pulled forwards out of a recess, and then can be lifted.
It normally isn't very difficult to open a visor, I found that in the westfield that I had, until I put a deflector on the scuttle in front of me, the visor on my helmet (Arai GP4) would start to flutter and lift over 150Kph. Have a look next time a rider comes off in MotoGP, almost everytime the visor will open in the first bounce, and then be ripped off on the second. That Ralfs visor was still attached to the helmet is quite amazing, I would have thought that I would have been ripped off during the crash, after it was pulled open by the loadings of the first impact. |

Nice to have confirmation taht the FIA's obsessionw ith not stopping races has endangered at least one life. I hope the army of Coronation Street viewers are proud of themselves. Dev's life is clearly muhc mroe important than Ralf's.
