alfaman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1st visit to Mallory Park

I'm aiming to go to Mallory Park for this Sunday's BARC meeting and I'm looking for some tips on best places to spectate, film etc...

Having seen some "home" video of various incidents at the first corner is this area clear of any major debris fencing and how close can you get to the action?

And what other corners do people recommend for filming/video?

And any other info would be appreciated.

Thanks

There's no debris fencing at Mallory. The only place you can get really close is at the Hairpin (Shaw's).

You can get closer to the action anywhere at Mallory Park than a lot of other circuits. And there is now some debris fencing after a fashion on the way into Shaw's Corner. Best general view of the circuit will be from the banking by Devil's Elbow, while one of the more interesting places to watch will be Gerard's in. I'll be there too - should be a great meeting.

There is now debris fencing up at the hairpin (only on the way up). But Mallory is good most of the way round and being small you can walk round it easy. But the first corner does have it share of fun.

Mallory, much like Goodwood, has decent viewing from almost everywhere. If you walk round early in practice (go anti-clockwise, so you are always looking into the traffic), and pick a spot. there's almost no obscurement, wherever you stand. You get incidents (overtaking, tyre smoking, and more) at Shaws (entry and exit), Esses and Gerrards (entry and exit). You can be round in 30 minutes, easy. Then select your spot for the racing.
If you're not tied to the paddock (ie racing), don't be fooled into just standing on the exit to Shaws or opposite the pits.

The Esses can be a good place too, usually a good bit of ovetaking and overdoing things there
Another good thing about Mallory is it's length, you can move around quickly and easily

Oops! My excuse is that I haven't been at the Hairpin this year!

Thanks for all the tips. I'll definitely walk around the track early on.

Any ideas on how the entries are looking?
