WOW - that new Renault Motor really....
..... sucks. We have been fooled people (for those that believed it).
I wonder if Tom Walkinshaw is sucking back up to AMT at the moment |

I was watching Speedvision's coverage of friday practice and they gave the impression that it wouldn't be used until qualifying. So i think i'll wait till the dust settles over this weekend before making a judgement.

Hey, its an improvement. Given how wretchedly underpowered they have been, any step up is cause for optimism. I do question the decision to wait until qualifying to use it. Would'nt the drivers have gained a benefit from being more familiar withit and its mapping ion the track? If they don't have enough to spare, its worriesome.
Don't forget that this is a good team with some really key people involved. This year was never expected to be anything but a year of on-track testing. They have made a big gamble which could still come through for them next year. They don't "Suck", they're learning. There are no revolutionary changes any more and no more miracles in F1. Big change comes from a radical idea and thousands of hours of development. |

They didnt live up to the expectations they created...but hey, i dont expect them anyway. The problems the car had is not just the engine, but the chassis too, and huge leaps in F1 are really tough during a season.

Yes, I get the rather uncomfortable feeling that Renault could be laughing at the critics 2-3 years from now...
Last time Renault entered F1, wasn't their first year a bit of a joke too? |
