Why do Ford always let the talent go
I have heard that Ford is losing both of their Drivers from this year and are getting Gardermeister why do Ford always lose the up and coming talent to other teams. Look at the past Solberg, Hirvinean and many others. Duval looks the goods for next year now another manufacture is going to win with talent that ford develops

It's a strange one isn't it? I understand Martin leaving - Ford hadn't commited to next year so Martin looked around and found himself another drive (only for Peugeot to announce they're pulling out after next year).
The same may be true of Duval but you'd have thought Ford would try and keep some continuity for next year. Ford have put a lot of effort into bringing Duval up to speed and now someone else will get the benefits. Odd. |

There still hasnt been any news regarding Markko. Wilson didnt have any choise with Duval as he was told they would have to make him available to any team that were interested, this was before they won two rallies and Ford realised what they were missing if they stopped rallying again.
Would be nice if Markko stayed but I fear he might have already signed for Peugeot |

BBC Teletext this morning said that Martin had been announced alongside Gronholm at Peugeot.

I think they've announced Gardemeister as one driver?

Toni Gardemeister is confirmed. Another car could have multiple drivers, maybe Wilson Jr., Sola, Warmbold. With Sola could Telefonica make a return to Ford.

Roman Kresta has been added as the second driver. He was picked from a short list of seven drivers.
Not sure why Ford have let drivers go in the past, but you can't blame Markko and Duval for looking around while Ford took so long to commit to the WRC. |

I put the blame firmly on Ford. It's just not good enough to lose four drivers of quality in 4 years. I hope that the skoda boys go well next year.

It's only for year - maybe in 2006 Ford drivers will be Loeb and Grönholm...

Just what I was going to say, with Citroen and Peugeot out, and the new Focus what a line up that would be!
