Button parts company with manager
Jenson Button has split with his manager John Byfield and someone else will be looking after him from now on.

I'd have thought Button would have dumped the whole management team and gone elsewhere after the Williams disaster.

The fan club is nothing to do with Mr Byfield, I suspect

I thought he'd dumped his manager back in September or something silly...of course he was going to do it, though - needed a fall guy to blame for the Williams fiasco.

This is what? His third or fourth management change? Not to be critical, but shouldn't he be focusing on dumb stuff like race results or perhaps even coming up with a coherent reason for wanting to leave BAR for Williams?

I am sure these are the things JB wishes his management would have settled without him being dragged through the media. His wanting to leave may be illadvised but if thats what he wants, then so be it.
I thought his manager was fired a long time ago. This may be the best move he made all season. |

He should hire Martin to be his manager.

I don't think i'm being cynical here-the manager was fired because :
a)He didn't find a workable disshonest way to get out of the bar contract (there was no honest way) b) Jenson hopes alot of the blame will be put on the manager |

No.
Jenson's management company - Essentially Sport may deal with it, but they probably contract it out. John Byfield the individual would not be involved in the fan club. |

Fan clubs are normally run by someone/some people entirely independent from the individual person or persons supported....

Now Now Boys. Button has had the Robinson Pairing, and John Byfield to my knowlage. But somtimes a fan club is run by a manager and others are run by individuals who have taken it upon themselves. Things like Jensonbutton.com(not using in an advertising way Adam ) would be run by his managment.

He is the fall guy for a grubby little deal that didn't stick. Jenson was happy to go along with it while he thought there was a chance it would work out.

In my opinion Button is lacking in integrety. As an individual (not driver) he is a lightweight and reflects the fact that all he has every had to do in his life is drive a racing car.

His first manager was the Sally Line Marketing manager Paul Lambert, who arranged his original transfer from professional International karting to Formula Ford. Jenson's dad John is his only real manager, always has been...Next up was David Robertson who got JB thru F3 into Williams!!! But does anyone know why they left DR for Byfield?... known in the paddock as "Calamity John" (according to F1 Business magazine)
Most fathers start off running their sons fan clubs...Johnny Herberts dad was first class at running JH's...but I cant imagine John Button doing that task! You wouldn't believe the nonsense you have to deal with...beggers, charities, nutcases, letters in foreign languages, autograph collectors & sellers!...Nope I don't see a professional negotiating manager doing that job for a driver unless they run an office with lots of dedicated ladies good at doing the autographs etc. |

I expect former Williams and Jaguar PR guru Nav Sidhu to be appointed as Buttons Manager before long
