Michelin : Yamaha Gauloises, Tech 3, Repsol & Telefonica & Camel & Konica Minolta Honda
Bridgestone : Ducati Marlboro, Kawa, Suzuki Dunlop : D'Antin (Ducati), Blata WCM Team KR will probably use Michelin (they tried it at Jerez last autumn and bike was going very well) or Bridgestone |

It wasnt long ago that basically everyone was riding Michelin. With Dunlop more like a small retarded cousin then a competitor |

Donington is notorious for being very greasy in the morning from the fuel dumped by the planes above as they come to land at East Midlands airport. Doesn't have to be wet either, always tippy-toes time at Dony in the morning.
What made the Funlops so special then? |

the whole jet fuel things sounds pretty far fetched. but hey? I"m not going to take Crafar's win away from him!
I think it he got podiums in Australia and Assen that year too. WITHOUT JET FUEL!! |

Crafar wasn'ton wets when he won at Donington, if you remember he flew that year on the Red Bull bike and ther ace before set pole and nearly beat Doohan at Assen.
Dunlops were always the better tyre at Donington usually because the weather was not as good as anywhere else. I was there that year and the weather was warm but very overcast. Crafar was quickest all weekend and simply drove away from the field. He just managed to be on the best tyes and the perfect set up, it does happen occasionally you know. As for the jet fuel theory, this has been researched and proven to be rubbish, it is simple the case that the surface is a bit more slick unless the weather is really hot (which doesnt happen often!) I remember Simon sliding the bike out of the old hairpin for 50 yards, laying a huge darkie, he said that the front tyre felt it would never tuck and that was the main reason for the win, he had so much confidence in the bike |
