Thanx Speed for getting back to me about the Adelaide circuit. Yes, I remember it just as "Adelaide" as well, your right. I think I was being pedantic. I'll work on getting that map for you cos I bought the programme from the Clipsal.
The Bartels road 'kink' I refered to is at the west end of Bartels, when the cars first turn onto Bartels. Once they come out the corner on here it's straight without that little squiggle early on in your map. Of course, your quite right in that it has that fast right hander onto Dequettaville Tce. The Clipsal V8 track is now slightly different at this corner onto Brabham, it's made in to a +220kmh sweeper, and watching the Lamborghini Diablo GT, Ferrari 360 Michelotto's, and Dodge Viper GTS-R's rip through there was awsome!!!! The Diablo went round the outside of the Ferrari through there (not done before) - while accelerating - all right in front of where I was standing. Ticket paid itself right there. |

I wasn't saying there aren't any famous Belgian people, merely pointing out that it is an oft repeated cliche, which is ironic since Spa is one of the most famous racing circuits. However, if you find it offensive I'll remove it at the next update.

It was indeed the Vic Elford.
At last a few more updates to report on - I've been a bit inactive recently with updates to e-Tracks, thanks to a combination of lots of work, sunny weathe and a trip to Donington park for the excellent DTM cars a few weeks ago. Anyhow, normal service should now be resumed! Latest updates: July 13: Added Zacatecas (MEX) July 13: Added Grand Rapids (USA) July 13: Added Norrköping (S) I also corrected the link on the front page to Sparrow Hills, which is in Russia, not the USA, of course! You'll also find artists impressions of the proposed new Viking Motor Park oval and road course in Sweden. |

New web address
Thought it was about time I updated this post to reflect the new e-Tracks address (which has been in use for more than a year now, but I'd forgotton this post existed!).
You can now find e-Tracks at: www.etracksonline.co.uk Please note that the old Freeserve address no longer exists. I've been working behind the scenes on a major project to map the Nurburgring Nordschleife properly, the fruits of which should be online within the next few weeks, complete with a potted history of the track. |

Sounds good Neil!
Hope you're keeping up on stories too! One I am particularly interested in is the repaving of Lime Rock Park, which AFAIK will be happening early this summer. Maybe you could find some info and make a news article? Thanks for the update. |

Fallen behind with the news of late (slapped wrist). I am a working journalist, so I really have to be in the mood of an evening to continue writing news! Will try to do better and I'll enquire about Lime Rock.
Both layouts of the Hungaroring are available - but there was an errant link on the Hungary page which sent you to the old one first, which I've now corrected. If you found the track through the circuits A-Z index, it sent you to the new one, so I was half right! |

Great site - however, if you get time, might be worth asking Mondello for an updated map of the circuit - there've been a few name changes.
Oh and we get the GTs now as well! |

Speed Demon - great site it is now one of the 'track sites' on my favourites list. Keep up the wonderful work. I especially like the Historical linkage to how the tracks used to be - excellent.

Oh corner names are a pain! Every time a new sponsor comes along the name gets changed... Don't even get me started on the Nurburgring!

LOL - yes we have the same problem - that's why all the marshals' posts use numbered call signals - means we don't have to change everytime someone else coughs up money.
I can get you the current ones if you want them - they've been in place for a couple of years so you never know, we might get another year out of them!!!! |

Oh, I've gasve up on getting the correct ones when the Kurzanbindung became Conti-Spange... At least the Nordschleife names are the same. I think I've got the right ones for the next update, however, but thanks for the offer. I think I should also nominate Bathurst Mount Panorama for a pain in the butt award when it comes to corner names as well... |

Ah, I see. Mondello is one of the maps I will be updating at some point as I am not happy with the current version, so the new names were great.
The one thing I forgot about the 'Ring was that there is often some debate as to which corner is which, even if the name hasn't change. Schwalbenschwanz being a case in point. It's not the banked corner before Galgenkopf, but the one before it. I think... |

Well, there are something like 175 corners on the Nordschleife, so keeping track of them, even if the names don't change, is a real challenge.

I think Schwalbenschwanz means Swallow's Tail... I could be totally wrong there though, but I have a recollection of reading it somewhere. Anyway, that would imply it applied to that sequence of corners that forms a sort of swallow's tail shape. A tenous argument I know... |
