Green Flag Tour
That flag that will start the first race of the year will go on an "Olympic Torch" style tour of the USA before it heads to Homestead:

It sounds like one of the most massive promotions in racing history. It's certainly a broad expansion of the concept of the Charlotte and Indianapolis 500 media tours.

Didn't want to start a new thread, so I thought this was interesting, and belonged here. It seems that the new advertising company that the IRL has is really making some good moves -
The IndyCar Series is coming to the NBA All-Star Game this week. Six 30-second audio and video spots an hour promoting the IndyCar Series brand will run on the 500-square-foot screen at the main entrance of the Pepsi Center in Denver. The game is Feb. 20, with ancillary activities on Feb. 18-19. Pikes Peak International Raceway staff also will be at the facility offering $10 adult tickets to the Aug. 21 race. |
