Definately, Newman is a future star in Winston Cup. He won very quickly in ARCA too. He comes from the USAC Sprint Car series where he was a champion and for some reason, sprint cars seem to be an excellent training ground for stock cars.

If I were Rusty Wallace and Jeremy Mayfield, I would be getting worried about this young stud joining the Penske Cup team next year. Newman has shown more than Tony Stewart did in his transition to stock cars and we all know what Tony has done in a stock car in his first 2 1/2 years.

I will make a prediction for Ryan next year. I think he will win a race and finish at least in top 15 in the final point standings. Really, I think he is a serious threat to win more than one race and finish in the top ten in points in his rookie season. But he will be getting third-line Penske equipment and he sometimes he doesn't always use his head. If his brain catches up with the rest of this body he will put up Tony Stewart-like rookie numbers.

One other thing, Newman adds to an already great crop of young drivers. This is really unprecedented in NASCAR's history and bodes well for the future of the sport.

Each series has some great new drivers, look at Kyle Busch in the Truck series. He would have won that race if his team hadn't let him run out of fuel!
