Update on Tagliani and Marshall racing in Oz (off topic)

Alex tagliani and marcus marshall are competing in the Sandown 500 V8 supercar race this weekend driving for WPS racing in a Ford falcon.

Today was opening day practice and they got down to business in the first 2 hr session.

34 cars are taking part and they ended up 23rd fastest in the 1st session (not sure which driver set the faster time) with a time of 1:12.5440 only 0:01.6817 seconds off the fastest car.

the 2nd session of the day was simply for the 2nd drivers alone in the car.

so Tags went out and got down to business and set a very respectable time of 1:12.4970 (0:01.0663 seconds off pole) in 16th place again out of 34 cars.

a very good effort first time up in a V8 supercar and hopefully the Champcar boys have a great weekend

it would actually be surprising ( and a bloody good effort) if Tags is faster at this stage. Marshall is no mug and has more experience in these cars.

Qualifying has been run and won.

Tags and Marshall have qualified 25th on the grid for tomorrows race out of 34 cars.

the print out ive got saldy has every car listed as the driver who qualified it but of course there car is listed as both of them but from I believe Marshall is the lead driver and was due to qualify for them but if tags has done well that could easilly be changed.

25th its gonna be a tough day for them back there and the weather is looking very shaky but I wish them well

The morning wamr up has been run and Tags and marshall i believe were 22nd fastest in the warm up.

the race is due to start in about 30 mins.

also as a side note disaster has struck for another former champcar driver Max Wilson.

his team mate New Zealander Simon Wills has rolled their car in the morning warm up several times over a barrier and into the catch fencing.

the car is too badly dmamged to take the race start so Wills and Wilson will sit the Sandown 500 out.

P.S Wills was unhurt in the accidnet.
