Wimbledon
Apologies if this is in the wrong category, but itwas on last nights London News that the final speedway meeting was being held at Wimbledon yesterday. Are the Hot Rods still being run there. If they are, will Rod be running a Jolly boys outing to Wimbledon this winter ?
Thanks Alan |

Spedeworth are still running meetings there for the forseeable future, no word has been given that they won't. Although due to rent problems the Wimbledon Speedway team have had to leave.
Wimbledon is a great night out and I would urge you all to go along as often as you can!! |

The loss of Plough Lane would be so sad.
I know this is in the wrong area of thr site, but the Dons have put up such a good effort on the shale this year. It was great to have a Wimbledon Speedway team back on-track. Although a long slog from my Silverstone office base, I have been making very regular trips to Plough Lane for Speedway. |

Yes, a "Spedeworth" trip is on the cards, possibly the "Best in Britain" meeting end of November, week after final TRC round at Brands.

Me too! I`m a bit scared about these closure rumours though - I`ve only just discovered the place this year (this will be my 3rd visit squeezed around Brands) - and it`s great! Reading the past corporate history of these GRA people off their website is somewhat worrying (with regard to venues they have sold/developed over the years)!

With any luck spedeworth will keep wimbledon alive, it can't die after I got hooked last season! Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to go yet this season...looks like my first trip will be the Banger World final.
