bradrive should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Trident Racing GP2

[/b]

Trident Racing is organized by Maurizio Salvadori of Trident Managment:
http://www.tridentmanagement.it
It will most probably delegate the running of the team to Racingbox:
http://www.racingbox.it
There are legitimite doubts about the current quality of engineering of this team, but there seems to be the idea to get a big name with F1 experience into the team. It looks uncertain as to whether Bruni will drive for them.
It is not understood why this package was prefered over Epsilon and Carlin.
It will be a though life for them.

Salvadori is Bruni's manager - it seems unlikely he won't run with them.

That is correct at this very moment, but Bruni is very much worried about the prospect of running with a team that is currently without GP2 cars and without experienced engineers and mechanics. Durango is still a more likely choice for him.
Bruni refused a free drive in A1GP for A1Team Italy because he does not believe the engineering part of the team is up for the job.

Strange that there should be these "doubts" over Trident's engineering, when GP2 say that technical considerations were one of the things which convinced them to give Trident the entry

GP2 series is known to be very much publicity-sensitive, Trident will get popular Italian singers like Jovanotti and Ramazotti into the GP2 paddock (they manage them and others), this will help the series to grow massmedia-wise.
Engineering-wise: What engineers will work for Trident?
Are you realizing that team engineers of ALL teams needed nearly half a season to learn to run gearbox/clutch/flybywire electronics due to the fact that these systems had MANY bugs. Ask any engineer working on a GP2 and he will tell you these systems had many imperfections and still have them. But by now experienced people know how to make the systems work.
Regarding Trident I am sceptical. And so is Bruni.

Autosport.com is reporting that he will be joining Enrico Toccacelo and Andrea Montermini in Malaysia this weekend for Team Italy. He has previous experience of the circuit.

A1Gp Team Italy will race in Sepang with Enrico Toccacelo, second driver will be Matteo Cressoni. Bruni is not associated with A1GP Team Italy.

Trident has announced Bruni as their first driver, with Racing Box to run the team. Which seems odd, considering their background.

It does seem a bit odd.
I would guess maybe Carlin are being taught a lesson for shunning GP2 in its first season.

As for engineers for Trident, if they are well funded then there's nothing preventing them taking engineers from other teams.

I put my query, which is being discussed here, in the Who goes where thread!! Oops, sorry Bradrive - we've had exactly the same thought process!!

They must have promised some good money or marketing ploys for the operation of the team to bolster their application?

Miracles do not happen in the real world. Trident will find it a terribly tough job to make the new team work until the first race. There is a lot of sceptism in the GP2 paddock as regarding of working for them, because it is felt that they underestimate the task of running in GP2. I think that Bruni is a good driver who is risking his career for this adventure. He knows that and is worried about it but it looks as he might have to race for them or alternatively not race at all in GP2.
It seems still a commom thought that by having money you just have to place some adverts in Autosport to build a team. It is not like that. It needs time and it needs to grow up in a progressive way. It needs also a clear thinking head to structure it. The fact that this whole story about Trident is not very clear is indicating that this structuring seems to lack. May be I am wrong. Time will tell.

The big name is Sergio Rinland and team manager is Alessandro Alunni Bravi, ex journalist and in the past close to Coloni Racing.

Well Rinland is certainly a quality engineer, so that's not a bad start!

He was running an F3000 team quite recently wasnt he?

This year, Rinland had worked in the technical part of Coloni GP2 team, but he left the Italian team at mid-season.
Hope his work with Trident could get at least some success, despite is a risky operation...
