New software upgrade is excellent

I post on many different forums and I have to say that the latest upgrade makes 10ths the best by miles.

It's likely that, when using the "Quick Post" box, things are quicker as it only adds your post to the thread without refreshing the whole page.

I never use the 'Quick post' box. I view threads in 'hybrid' mode, so I like to make sure that my replies are attached to the post they are replying to - it makes it much easier to make sense of long threads. I find it irritating when people just attach replies to the first post in the thread with a comment like 'I agree' - agree with whom, & with what?

The one 'feature' I'm noticing now, is that the software now shows all unread threads as 'new' rather than just ones new since my last visit.

Is there a way of changing my own settings to revert to the old style? Or will I just have to get into the habit of running the "mark forums read" utility.

This is covered in Forum Support in this thread and in this thread.

Thanks for that, I'd not spotted there was a sub-forum for 'support'.

I have issued myself a belm.

Just come back from holiday and I thought at first that the jet lag was doing my head in and I had forgotten how to use the forum.

Two days at Thruxton have reset my mind and I can now see what has changed.

Some interesting new toys here and I shall have to have a play.

Regards

Jim
