Return to Fontana?

Quote:
California Speedway president Gillian Zucker and Griffin said the IRL and the track have been in ongoing discussions to have a race return to Fontana. The two sides last talked about it before the IRL race at Twin Ring Motegi in Japan.
"From the day that we discovered that we wouldn't be on the schedule, we were committed to working to have world-class open wheel racing return to California Speedway," Zucker said.
But she also said the obstacles that kept an IRL race off the 2006 schedule remain.
Scheduling and sponsorship are two key problems that need to be overcome before an IRL race returns to California Speedway.
"If we are able to overcome these things, you'll see open-wheel racing back here," Zucker said. "They are big hurdles, but they are hurdles that we haven't overcome in the past."
