Thruxton/BARC well done
A while back it was mentioned about Thruxton's grandstand standing empty whilst everybody was getting soaked while it rained. Well, at the 750 race on sat they opened them up FOC when it chucked it down. So WELL DONE who ever thought of it and made it happen. Steps in the right direction to bring people through the gate?

The grandstands were opened up just about by the time that everyone was soaked through from the rain that had been going at least 30mins though!!! Me and a few members of the party i was with were wet through before the grandstand opening was mentioned on the tannoy.

Well its a start, and proves that messages on this forum are read, and sometimes acted on by people that have a say at the circuits. Maybe in future Thruxton will look at the number of people through its gates at smaller events and open the grandstand even if the weathers not bad.
But that would upset BARC members if all the seats are taken and also the people who are out at the complex you can't please all the people. Boggy |

It was a very good day.
Finished building the Saxo we were running at 1.30am, got a few hours sleep, drove to thruxton and out of the box got 4th place in the race and Motorsport News "Star Drive". So we were very wet but also very happy!!! |

Aha, perhaps you could tell me a bit more about the car/driver then because myself and even Marcus Pye (we were commentating) were completely clueless I'm afraid to say. We were caught off guard!
