Wildlife at Oulton Park & Caption Competition

I like to inject a little humour into the marshals forum from time to time, I hope you don't mind this intrusion. Outlon park is noted for its wildlife, the majority of which totally ignores what is happeing on track.

"Excuse me mr marshal, is it safe to cross the track yet?"

And, to make your day, here is the caption competition.

So long as the rabbit doesn't try to play chicken with the F3000s as one squirrel did at the WTCC meet - lets just say that the squirrel wasn't as quick as an F3000

No the rabbits have far too much sense and even started their own grading scheme some of them are now redblacks and grading for black.

It's a pity you didn't visit me at Shell or Ken Webb etc at Clay Hill because in both boxes there was a nesting family of Great Tits.

I don't know about Ken's but the Shell birds were in and out all day a part from when the mini driver decided to join us.

Don't know about anybody else but I've noticed that the wild life ignores anyone in orange....................................................

I got him last year crossing in front of club F3's protecting his nuts.

I suppose I would protect my nuts if I saw a pack of F3's coming at me.

I didn't know Jordan and Jodie Marsh had started marshalling!

Can you send them to Shelsley Walsh this weekend please?

I understand they were being used as a new safety barrier, more cushionable than a tyre wall?

Down under wildlife

I've seen kangaroo's, wallabies (small versions of roo's), dogs, cats, sheep and even snakes cross hot race tracks.

Seagulls get hit by motorcycles at Phillip Island regularly.

Are you holding this against me?

As I've always said - work is one thing but when it comes to real life, I bow to those who are better able/qualified.

So - I am a HMRC Senior Officer who happens to also be a flag marshal (the red bit on my badge is something I try to hide) and, despite my best efforts, I keep getting put into the Observer role.

But, Mike, when I work with the likes of yourself on the bank, I have to hang my head in shame that I might even be considered "better" or "higher grade" or whatever because in terms of marshalling you - and so many of the rest of the guys/gals I work with - are so much more able than myself. All I really want to do is wave my flags and be left in peace!
