Mr. Ford himself gave a statement recently that stated there was the possibility. There still is a lot of tape to go through, but here is a bit of a look at some of the latest news...

It was on a business report on Talksport Radio. Seems they have too many prestige brands and Jaguar looks to be the one that could go. I guess the X-Type/S-Type competes with the bigger, regular Fords, unlike Astons and Range Rovers. |

IMO Jaguar is overshadowed by AM since a few years.

I was about to say the same FIRE, as Jag is being shortly forgotten because of Aston's involvement now. I first posted my list full of German manufactures but for a variety of countries, here is who I would choose.... only the best for each country.....
Porsche- Germany Toyota- Japan Peugeot- France Ferrari- Italy Jaguar- UK Porsche is one who we could see next year at LM, if not with a P1 in two years or so. Toyota has been rumored to join in the race with an electric hybrid possibly. Peugeot have already made an announcement of their return for 2007 running a diesel P1. We already know the news there... just waiting to see what the car looks like. (Hopefully a closed top P1) Ferrari... ummmmmmm... it is very unlikely that we will see a factory run Ferrari P1 at Le Mans for a very long time, unless for some miracle that Ferrari decides to scale back their F1 program to do a P1 car. (I doubt Ferrari will choose any race over an F1 program) Jaguar... last but certainly not least... All I can say here is the roar of the V12 XJR-8/9LM/12 still amazes me along with their extremely beautiful looks and leaves me praying that Jaguar will make a return to Le Mans very soon... possibly for the 2010 coupe era with a P1 that looks and sounds similar to the Group C cats!!!!! Any other guesses to when Jaguar may leap back to LM???? Last edited by Garrett; 3 Aug 2006 at 20:28. |

Don't think it's anyone who's particulalrly interested, just Ford saying they are considering selling.

Jaguar line-up should be:
S-Type saloon/coupes XJ V8/V12 saloons/coupes XK Grand Tourer 'F' Type 2 seater sportscar (911 GT3/430/Gallardo rival) And of course a Le Mans program for overall wins and the F-Type in GT2/GT3, lol! |

Why not? Although for me the S-Type just scraps in
I could take or leave the F in GT. Prototype and overall wins (with a production based engine) is what I crave and the only way Jaguar can start regaining some of the lost respect. 2010 would be the right time too, by then they would have served their time for that alleged F1 team they had. On a more negative note, I see that not even the JDHT is at Browns Lane now |

Sticking with five and with (road car) manufacturers my list is roughly based on previous wins:
Porsche Ferrari (rules out Alfa Romeo) Jaguar (rules out Ford and Aston) Audi (rules out Bentley and, er, Lagonda) Peugeot should probably come next, but I'll go for a manufacturer that hasn't won: Toyota. OK so some of those are more likely that others, but the title does say 'Fantasy'. |

I think we all know Ferraris a no go, but Maserati are known to be evaluating a program to replace the MC12, P1 coupes seem the perfect match, if they want to avoid a GT1/GT2 clash with Ferrari (Fiat Group).

I wasn't around in the days when Ferrari's F1 season suffered until they had done Le Mans, but I see a 512S or 250GTO and wish I was. Thinking about it they may as well do Le Mans because that is more or less the situation we've had this year
Yes, Mazza are the most likely bet. For the FIAT group it works well. Alfa in TC (sort of), Mazza in Sportscar and Ferrari in F1. And Fiat in the garage being repaired Actually, as we are fantasy, I'd like to see Alfa in F1, Ferrari in Sportscar and Mazza in TC! That would take a big change, not least in TC. Now this is a fantasy. |
