Here's my Oulton Park. Virtually the same as yours Martin but I straightened the start straight slightly to improve the pits, I tightened the exit of the new fast corner to improve runoff & I rounded the next hairpin off for the same reason. I also did a couple more variations including one to make the new Hizzy's flat out onto the new track. Very very fast but I think there would be enough runoff. May be too fast for single seaters though & would probably only be allowed for tin tops. I also kept the old flat out Knickerbrook as I felt that with the added runoff this would also be safe when running on the external circuit. Opinions?

That's pretty cool, I've got to say. You could still run the circuit as it is really, and just add that new bit plus the couple of minor alterations you've made - and you've got a really neat circuit then with plenty of length to use should you need it. I think the only thing I'd then do is slightly realign the new bit to make more room for the paddock...

Why thank you P! The paddock space was the one thing that I was wondering about. If it was to be a Grade 1/A circuit then it would probably need more paddock room. However, it wouldn't take much to create a little extra room. Also the circuit would need to be widened.

Yes, well, I would assume that in totally rebuilding parts of the track, you may as well completely resurface and widen it!
I ought to add some praise for Paul for coming up with the jist of the idea too |

AF: Good work. I like it, good job.
Lustig: I really don't like what you've done with Cascades. I think the track would be nice, if it was an original design, but as an edit of Oulton - I think it detracts from it's "nature". Don't get me wrong, I like the circuit, but I don't think it works for Oulton. |

Yeah, I didn't like that the first time round, and I don't like it now...
It's just too stop-start. It would work as an 'original' like Paul says because then you could scale it to a reasonable length, but Cadwell is a small track. The longest straight there couldn't be more than about 500 metres long... |

it isn't very good. the only things i changed were the top part and i made the hairpin turn a bit tighter. so to be honest i prefer the original track.

This is my version of Portland. As one can see i adjusted as little as possible. I figured that it's almost impossible to increase the tracks length (due to lack of space), so i guess the only way to add another overtakingspot (or increase the opportunity to overtake) was by converting turns 4,5 and 6 into one big long righthander and thereby increasing the length of this 'straight' by 250 meters and increasing the chances of passing in turn 7. Another adjustment would be widening the track by 2-3 meter. Last edited by Roninho; 16 Aug 2006 at 15:55. |

I also did some work on Imola, trying to rebuild the great & fast track it once was:
Imola before: Imola after: I killed of the chicane befor start/finish. This results in a 1.300 meter straight starting from 'rivazza' untill the first chicane in 'tamburello', which i kept due to safety reasons. After the first chicane it's full throttle all the way till Tosa, where i got rid of the chican in 'villeneuve' resulting in a straight of 900 meters. Imho a big improvement over the current configuration, and still a safe track. Last edited by Roninho; 16 Aug 2006 at 16:12. |

Emm... no. Imola is bad enough as it is, Your just taking the safety points right out of it.

That Imola change is actually largely what the track will look like from 2007, IIRC. The Variante Bassa will be removed to make room for a new pits complex and bigger paddock. The Villeneuve chicane will remain where it is, though.
