US TV listings for F1 in Suzuka
I've gotta go to New York this weekend and was wondering if anyone can tell me which terrestrial channel in NYC is carrying the Grand Prix this weekend.

The SPEED Channel is all there is in New York but unless you are staying with friends or relatives you may not get it on a hotel telly since it's a cable channel.
Unfortunately I "watched" more than a few races in hotel rooms on the FIA's Live Timing screen on my laptop. |

That's a pity, the hotels don't have that. I know CBS did the Spanish GP time-delayed earlier in the year.

There is certainly hope that your hotel will carry the SPEED channel through the cable provider... I have "watched" a few races as Spritle describes but I have also been able to catch them on the telly in a hotel room, just depends on the hotel.
Good luck! |

It seems that not many in New York carry it. I think it doesn't come with whatever package [TimeWarner or something] the NY hotels get. I've been in a lot of hotels in the City and never seen it. Looks like I'll have to try and see if its webcasted... means no carousing in bars for me on Saturday night I guess :-(

davyboy,
if you cant find it on TV at your hotel, i can suggest that you check out the ESPNZone sports bar in Time Squere (on broadway if i recall) you might have some competion with baseball playoffs, but they have some tables set asdie with small personal lcd tvs for people who want to watch different sports. not sure about their hours of operation though, hopefully they dont close before the race starts or ends. |

Davyboy,
I know that in Boston, an Italian Cafe in the North End shows F1 broadcast; it's possible that in Little Italy, you migfht find the same sort of thing. A quick Web search says the The Playwright Bar and Restaurant at 202 West 49th might be a possibility. |
