G'DAY guys, i'm back from surfer's and i actually did enjoy the race, was on the main straight, looking across at wilson\briscoe's pits.brought a mcdonald's shirt on saturday, then got abused by all the people who were team australia supporters because of bourdais move on power, man it was a racing incident,if The champ did a other driver out,no-one would care.as least i got free big macs.

Agreed I expect to see power to score at least a podium very soon. The number of very talented and impatient drivers that are rapidly coming through the ranks is amazing, add to that G Rahal, Simon and others from FA may make it difficult for some to keep their seat.

Congratulations to Nelson... He had proven to me that it was just a matter of time. Hope to see many more victories for this guy, and I'm sure I will.
Congrats also to Dale Coyne (and obviously Mario Dominguez) for a P2. And, of course, Sebastien. Now, I haven't read this thread up to this point, as my time is limited, so I'm just going to give a few of my thoughts... Tracy should have been penalized for his pit-lane exit. I was absolutely shocked that he wasn't. Ironically, later in the race he was penalized for something which I didn't think was deserving. And Bourdais, knowing that the championship was his, seemed to decide to race only for the win. Regardless of the consequences to other drivers. A drive not expected from a champion of his calibre. Pretty good race, in my opinion. The end result was unpredictable at the start. That makes it fun. Shame there's only one date left on the schedule. The offseasons are so long. |

PS)
I think its great, and a statistical anomaly, that nobody has won this race twice. |

He's had so much success that now when he falters he whines and complains....

I, and many other CCWS fans on many boards have been getting tired of Bourdais whining. How many fans does he have left now?
And it`s not a champions thing...he has become very unlikable. When he started in 2003 he might have had the same personality...but it`s 3 years later, he has won 3 titles...and his schtick is still the same. Hearing him talk you wonder if he ever won a race. |

Yes, sounds like a lot of champions.
I can't stand Bourdais to be honest, but that is the way a lot of sportspeople are. They are highly driven and if they are relaxed about losing it is usually a surprise. |

well if u remember schumacher in 03?, all he had to do was finish 8th to win championship. kind of the same scene as bourdais. schumacher had a terrible day, front wings missing etc, but after the race i dont remember him whining about what a bad day he had. he was just happy to have won the championship.

Well that was different. He scraped the title that day, more or less, so therefore the relief will have been the predominant feeling!
Anyhow, let Bourdais whinge, it is amusing me. |

Bourdais is good to have around as the whiny french bad guy. He's a vital part of the cast of characters in champcar.
