Never bought anything from him so I can't comment on quality but it's bound to be better than original! What type got rolled?
Thanks for the link, never realised they'd be so cheap

It was from Trirojag (it uses a bonnet from a Phaeton - S3 from the descriptions that link gives), in it's last season my dad rolled it twice, first time at high speed at an event in the Scottish Borders (~80ish mph) and made three barrel rolls without damaging the bonnet at all

The second time it rolled it was on a slow speed corner at an event near Stonehaven and the bonnet was completely destroyed

We fabricated a bonnet from sheet steel & some girders we found lying around the workshop, but it weighs a ton & looks a bit agricultural

Cheers
Steve

PS Just in case you're wondering, the car isn't actually a Dutton, it's a '72 Jago spaceframe chassis originally intended for Hot Rod use, and has aluminium panelling (apart from the bonnet).

Matski has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
BMW every single time.

Wanted a 6 series since I was 10. Got one when I was 22. I've promised myself I'll always have at least one BMW. Chances are I'll never ever buy a brand new one.

Since my 3 series went, I've had a hankering for an E38 740i Sport. But I can't really jutify the running costs.

Ahh. I personally think buing new cars is a bit crazy - second hand ones are always a better buy IMHO... whether they're nearly new or pre-scrapyard bangers. Surely even just with eBay choice shouldn't be a problem! I find at least a car a day on eBay I would like to buy!

Brand loyalty, i have in the past always leaned towards Ford, and i would have preffered a Mondeo to the car i bought recently (a Renault Laguna) but i just couldn't find the Mondeo i wanted for the money i payed for the Laguna (given the right spec) so in the end i settled on a Laguna.

My list of cars.

1986 (C) Austin Meastro (never got it on the road though)
1989 (F) Renault 19 (1.4 TR) First proper car)
1989 (F) Ford Sierra 1.6 L estate
1993 (L) Ford Mondeo 1.8 GLX
1999 (T) Vauxhall Astra 1.6 LX
2002 (02) Renault Laguna 1.9 DCI Dynamique

The Fords have been my favourites and i do have a kind of brand loyalty towards Ford, however i bought the Astra and Laguna because at the time there wasn't a Ford i could afford or really wanted, ie i was never a fan of the way the Focus looked, (it drives very well, but i preffered the Astra's styling) and recently i was after a Mondeo 2.0TDCI in Zetec trim, but they were fetching more than i wanted to pay so i instead plumped for the Laguna in Dynamique trim.

I will return to Ford though one day, the new evolution of the Mondeo that is due looks stunning, and i quite like the current Focus. That said i have always fancied a Saab.

I don't have any brand loyalty. I've pretty much always had a Ford or Dodge. But I love cars so much that pretty much every brand has something I'd like or would own if I had the chance. Currently I have 4 cars (only two run): 1974 Dodge Charger, 1982 Dodge Rampage, 1998 Escort, and a 1995 Escort.

I guess now that I think about it I'm pretty loyal to Ford Escorts. I'm on my fourth one of those and would buy a new one after graduation if they still made them. They're tough little cars and see to run forever and live well with abuse and get good gas mileage. Plus they're not flashy and I don't like flash. And the cops ignore you when you're speeding...

So I guess I love Escorts, but its the model not the brand.
