Thommy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
According to German Motorsport-Magazine "Motorsport aktuell", Kevin Kalkhoven has said in 2007 only 22 would be in the starting grid. Panoz is said not to be able to built 35 cars by begin of the season, and 13 cars are to be t-cars.

So, I think we will see this year's teams

2 cars Newman / Haas
2 cars Walker
2 cars PKV
2 cars Conquest
2 cars HVM
2 cars Forsythe
2 cars Coyne
2 cars Rocketsports
2 cars "The team formally known as Rusport"

+

2 cars Gelles
2 cars Pacific Coast

= 22 cars

Bad luck for Stoddart. If one team failed to find the money for the whole series or for two cars, Paul Stoddart would get a chance to ananme 1 or 2 minardi- Drivers.

So, what would happen to the other teams?

Dreyer & Reinbold could stay in IRL
EuroInternational?
Jensen MotorSport: Only Formula BMW?
Johannson: Has often announcend Plans, a lot of them did not work, would be no suprise should this one also not work
Parrot?
Polestar: Will stay in Formula Atlantic?
Ganassi will stay at IRL for sure...

Hmm: Only 22 cars, new chance for IRL?

Dreyer & Reinbold is staying in the IRL, IMO. No one knows yet what the Stoddart deal is going to be, or the RuSport deal. Between those, it could be a net gain or net loss of cars by the time they get done. Gelles has gone "cold" already and is out of it.

I still have not seen an Announcement about D & R yet although I do feel they flirted with CC only to get more money from TG.

Will there still be 2 cars at Walker if Mr Briscoe signs for anyone other than Team Australia?

For the final time..Briscoe is NOT going to Team Australia! It would be a miracle if he were to appear on that team next year.

He said he would go where there was a ride, either series however there dont seem to be many rides going in the IRL at the moment, atleast not without $$$ as the last funded ride went to Manning.

Robin Miller has said that Briscoe and Gore have patched up their differences so I would be interested to see what info Mac had on such developments.

So, there won't be a promessing opportunity for a good IRL-Seat, will there?
Well, ChampCar- seats seem to be full, too. So, which Jobs could be offered to Ryan?

ALMS / LMS? I don't think so
Grand Am: Maybe... It is said some GA-Jobs are paid very well...
DTM? Forget it
JGTC? Hmm, I don't think so. Even JLMS or Formula Nippon
WTCC? I don't think so
FIA-GT? Hmm; if a rich guy looked for a professional driver to share the cockpit, then maybe...
V8Supercars in Australia? Maybe...

Walker Racing next year's lineup will most likely be Power and Pagenaud. Briscoe will not have a ride there as it looks for now IMO.

Actually there seem to be quite a few rides in champcar open at the moment also with the potential of new cars on the grid.

I think briscoe will be champcar next year. There were enough people impressed with him to make that happen.

Derrick Walker: "It's always been obvious to me that in order to make the team as marketable as possible, it needed the best two Australian drivers we could lay our hands on. We've got one in Will, the other obvious one is Ryan. If the opportunity came up, I'd accept him in a heartbeat".

Ryan Briscoe: "RuSPORT is a great group but I'm not sure what is happening with them next year, and obviously Team Australia is an option".

As I have said previously, it would take much water to flow under many bridges before Briscoe would even consider a Team Australia ride.

My understanding is that some water has flowed under some bridges (thanks largely to a Mr Walker) - to the point where Briscoe would consider suiting up for Team Australia.

However, it would require one of two things:
1) A ridiculously large amount of money
2) All of his other options to become evaporated

I believe Ryan's first choice is to stay with RuSport, but it depends largely on what shape RuSport will be in next season.

RUSPORT: A few days back AR1 was reporting that Carl Russo told them, that everything is settled with the team and the team will stay exactly as it is – but with a new internal ownership structure. Also Jeremy Dale will still manage the team and they will field two cars next year with CDW backing for Wilson...

and rumor is that the No. 10 car will also have sponsorship...
