Mandretti39 Street Circuit Series

We all know I love street circuits, therefore, I have created my own series, The Mandretti39 Street Circuit Series (MSCS).

The first race in the MSCS is The Grand Prix of Minneapolis Presented by Target. The track winds its way through the streets of downtown Minneapoolis, MN around the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The track is 2.38 miles long, runs counter clockwise, and has 14 corners.

The entry and exit from the hairpin section look pretty tight.

And after watching the A1GP in Beijing, I hope that hairpin is wide enough

That hairpin run definately looks tight, but how wide is that street? It might be ok assuming it is wide enough.

I agree with SBF, it is better than Beijing!

The entrance is three lanes wide, while the exit is four lanes, but then becomes three lanes down the road. I was looking at the hairpin for Long Beach, and both are the same width, so it should be wide enough.

The next track in the series is The Portland Grand Prix Presented by the Oregonian.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=541817

The track is 1.77 miles long, runs counter clockwise and has 16 corners. The track takes you past the Rose Garden, home of the NBA's Portland TrailBlazers.

TBH, I'm not happy with this track. It was tough to get the track more than 1.5 miles long. If I hadn't added that extension to the south, the track would have been considerably shorter.

That last one proves that racetracks actually can have (roughly) the shape of Texas.

Assuming that the top of the South Extension can be straight lined (I can't make out what the road markings are supposed to be). How about extending your circuit to just over 2 miles without the South Loop by doing something like this....

The next round is The Grand Prix of Syracuse (NY) Presented by Destiny USA. The track is 2.11 miles long, has 21 corners, and runs clockwise. The track passes some famous Syracuse landmarks, such as the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology and the War Memorial at OnCenter, the home of the minor league hockey team, the Syracuse Crunch.

The next race is The Grand Prix of New Orleans Presented by The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The track is 1.99 miles long, has 14 corners, and runs counterclockwise. The track runs around the Louisiana Superdome and the pits will have a unique location, it is along the back straight on Girod Street in between where the track leaves and returns to Girod Street. The paddock could possibly be located inside the Superdome, much like the original ChampCar Houston track was located inside the Convention Center.

Nice track, mandretti. I made some changes to accommodate a better pit lane just North of the Superdome on the far side of the track.

My next race is the Grand Prix of Miami Presented by Norweigan Cruise Lines.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=524081

The track is 2.13 miles long, has 13 corners, and runs counterclockwise.

The track is located just north of the old Bicentennial Park track. The track runs parallel to itself along North Bayshore Boulevard. One of the track's signature corners is probably the long sweeping turn 6.

How about this. I noticed there's a piece of tarmac just South of your track that resembles a race course. I used it for this track. It's 3.9 km or 2.4 mi.

That piece of track is the old CART Bicentennial Park track that was run around 1994. Here's more info...

The Rest!

I am going to post the rest of my tracks in this post. I feel as though my thread isn't really getting that much exposure, so throwing all the track into one post should liven up this thread.

This one is quite nice. I found an other option along the harbour/coast: 4.2 km or 2.6 mi long with a proper start-finish straight of approx. 850 metres.

And this: 3.5 km or 2.2 mi with 12 corners. Counter-clockwise, so the first corner is the massive Gurva Grande.
