Lustigson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Monteblanco circuit, Spain

I just read an article on Autosport.com about the new Monteblanco circuit in Spain, nearing completion.

I don't mean to be funny, but if one of us was to put forward that design, it would probably receive some negative comments regarding it being way too twisty.

The GP loop has a lot of corners for 2.78 miles or less than 4.5km.

twisty, but the street testing section is a nifty idea. But I do agree with SBF. I may edit this, just for a laugh.

It is quite twisty, indeed.

I agree totally with what SBF said on this track. It looks like this circuit is deliberately twisty.

On the other hand, the main straight is just under a km long (I believe 968 metres or 0.601 mi.). That places the shorter straight in a better perspective, perhaps.

It adds perspective but also makes the number of corners into an even more compressed length.
On the layout in post #1 taking out the pit straight, there is 18 corners in 2.1miles, or 3.5km. That's a rough average of one every 190 metres or so.

The only testing I can see F1 using it for is acceleration and brakes, as that's all your going to be able to do on it. No fast corners, even what could be "medium fast" corners are tempered by slower corners before each with not enough straight to build up to medium fast.

Well you could have a layout like this wich would create some faster turns and a couple would get a higher speed at turn in.

But since there´s no picture like this in the link that Lustigson posted I guess there´s no plans to do that and therefor not enough runoff-space

I thinik the problem with that particular option is the proximity of the cars passing in opposite directions at the Perimeter track and the Race school straight.
The diagram doesn't show any barriers to seperate these two sections of track.

Yeah I thought about that, but it shouldn´t be to hard to fix would it?

The width of the barrier would mean virtually no run off to either side so I don't think it would be possible without actually changing the position on one of the sections of track...probably the perimeter section, this would mean altering the grandstand/viewing area on the outside

I've updated my site with this circuit, for easy editing purposes, and because it wasn't on the last version of RacingCircuits.net.

I have to admit that if F1 were to race here it would be a travesty. Got to go down as one of the most boring circuits ever built. Even Tilke's done better...

That can only be a test track. It's even more pathetic than the Hungaroring, which is hard to achieve.

I suppose most testing is done by analysing cornering data and so on...there are certainly plenty of corners to analyse on that track! You couldn't make a more dull track if you tried.
